Wyx,

I can open the Radar while sitting inside my house also without crashing, but the moment I open it up anywhere else, it crashes. It also worked in TS for me, but my char arrow was in the upper right of the window and stayed there so it was pretty usless. I too am on a dual AMD MP 2000+ w/ 2 gig of ram and a Nvidia 6800. I also crashed when I got near the broker. Everything was jumbled up on the page. Thx for the help!

heh some people should just kill themselves.

At any rate i added some new features before i went to bed and had no time to test them, so i will be posting this at about 5 or 6pm EST after i get out of work.

Keep in mind its extremly basic, So far you have the choice to find the closest resource to you, or if one is in scan range in a priority array (think eq2harvest).
It will use the status text in the main script window to tell you how far to go (N,S) and (E,W) to find the node. It's something to tide people over until we can get the full radar fixed.

Also if someone could point me a site that has all the resource nodetypes listed for every tier, or has a list of them, PM me i'll put it in and save you all the legwork when you download this.

PS i'll try putting it in a status window when richy gets back to me on how to create one in xu, then you can see multiple nodes and distances at the same time.

Intel User here...

A few points here to focus some of the reports of odd behaviour and differentiate between AMD specific problems and more general ones.

The Zooming issues on initial start are normal. It saves the settings or at least most of the time.

When I first loaded the radar it was zoomed way out and all the dots were mushed together and the radar window was quite small. Both of these are probably reasonable defaults considering that the small window size is a good defaults for folks that play at lower resolutions and the zoomed in state is good for games that send you ALL mobs in the zone like EQ(assuming here that there is common code between the radars in different games?).

Once I got the window size and zoom set right it remembers the settings from session to session except rarely when it goes back to defaults. The reset to defaults is rare enough that it might well coincide with an update of the radar plugin.

I'm not sure about the latest version but the previous version also had a mixup with the checkboxes for player and NPC names. IIRC, the NPC names checkbox turned on ALL player and NPC names and the player checkbox did nothing.

kramer... just zoom in. That is why everything is jumbled and useless in the righthand corner.

Ok, this is important.

So, you can go in a TS (even with people in it) and it will not crash.

Except, it will crash when you?
1. Get near the broker?
2. Actually target the broker?

It does not crash when you target other players in the zone?

With more time i made some more test, here is the result:
- with the map plugin loaded but the map ui closed i can log in andtrip around, zone here and there and do stuf.
- with the map plugin loaded and the map closed i can zone in a PC populated tradeskill instance, i can open the map ui and see PC and Object, i see pc mouvment also and if i muve i see my pointer muve with me,i can travel the whole TS zone, go near npc, pc and all is ok, BUT if i target a PC a NPC, or a Object the game Crash!

I pretty much had the same experience. But I could touch the chemistry table, but the moment I targeted the broker, crash.

Simucal, thanks! Had to zooooooom way in, but everything spread out a little.

Does something happen in the radar when you target it like change colors, pass a variable? If so would changing that fix the problem?

wyvernx,

I've stepped through the code as much as possible, it would help immensly to be able to see what's in the eq2map class (i believe that would be where the underlying problem is) could you either pm it to me or post it so we can continue work on this.

I tend to think it is something that is being passed from EQ2 and XUnleashed crashing it.

On my AMD machine, if I switch char's going from my primary to one of my alts, the game crashes if Xunleashed is loaded.

WTF knows. Is there a way to set the app to debug what is going on inside to a log file that I can send back to someone? I have a little programing skill, but no VB6.

jabst1922, just comment out lines until you find the EXACT line int he GUI that is causing the crash.

Ie if you comment it out, you dont crash. But if you leave it running, it will crash. The best way to test is in the TS and try targeting a mob.

If it is in the EQ2Service it will be a line in the GUI like service.updatedata
