There is alot of talk on the EQ2 forums that they just banned a ton of players. Did anyone get banned?

I am almost always at the keyboard while using the crafter and I even help out on things that are not going well. If they have made tools or whatever to find the macroers how does that effect us? Granted if you play it 24x7 you deserve to be caught but I am curious about even using it now. They don't give a lot of info overall on what they are doing obviously and if a lot of it is serverside for plat sales then that is one thing but if they put it in the client then thats another thing altogether.

from all accounts i've seen and SS... only way they are catching the idiots is by entering the zone and simply continuing to try and talk to a toon that is crafting... no response and eventually they ban them if they continued to craft the whole time...

i have also heard reports that they catch them by physically teleporting the toon to another part of the crafting instance..(so that they don't lose target of the machine)... send them a few tells... then port them back to same exact position.. if they continue to craft as before with no answers ... they ban them

The old methods were yes gms sending tells and teleporting but the recent posts seem to suggest that they are on a global crackdown so to speak and using new tools rather than old standby methods.

The "new wave of bannings" phenomonon! Generally it actually means that they just finally got around to processing their back log of complaints. As an excuse for delays they call it a special enforcement effort. It has a great calming effect on the masses. Generally it actually amounts to very little.

By the sounds of later posts, the poster I quoted above even had his account reinstated. I almost wonder if they just banned all IP's from China with playtimes over XXX or some similar kind of regional profile based banning.

You don't want to get caught? Don't get reported. Don't do things that other players cant or act on information that they don't have. Heck, if you really don't want to get caught, uninstall XUnleashed right now!!!

Warping in a crafting instance? Haha, get what you deserve!

Actually, it's not surprising at all that they put so many doors and twists and turns in the crafting instances. I was annoyed at first but I suspect it's there to encourage lazy botters to warp around and do other things that are giveaways.

In the end, I'm sure that when someone from here gets banned we WILL see them post an "I got banned!" post. Hasn't happened yet.

The gold sellers seem much reduced on playerauctions.com, and IGE doesn't have any gold for sale that I can find. My guess is that they looked at a couple things: currency transactions and account activity. You could have the logs give you the accounts involved in frequent transfers of certain exact amounts of platinum (1,2,3,4,5). Then you could check to see how long the account was logged on per day. If it's 23 hours (minus 1 for downtime) and you have all these suspicious transactions, then it's probably time to smack it with the ban stick.

Meanwhile, crafter macroing is still in full force. I don't think they really care about it. The truth is, no sane person would take a crafter to 50 without macros, so without macroers, there would not be enough crafters to fill demand.

I don't see how such a mind-numbingly, eye-gougingly boring system made it into a video game. It's not just worse than any game/sub-game I've played, it's worse than any JOB I've had.

Next patch they are making it slightly more interesting for tradeskillers. Read up on the changes on the forums, some pretty cool stuff.

The bannings were on the Plat Farmers/Bot Teams. As far as I know, the crafter bots, were not even touched.

i use the tradeskill macro every night, from 9pm - 6am, and every day, from 7am-2pm, when i get home from school. ive been doing this since january. nothings happened.

actually the bot teams of plat farmers have tradeskillers too... and the SS's i saw were of a plat bot afk tradeskilling at a wood table.. some peeps called in CS rep who banned him... was kinda funny to read the SS's.. the CS rep bairly spoke better english then the plat farmer i'd suspect..

One thing that strikes me is this:

I have been using Xunleashed for 3 years, on DAOC SWG and now EQ2, if it wasn't for this program I would have left all of these games much sooner.

For me these types of apps double a games useable life, I'll be buggered if I'm going to sit there and play pong for countless hours day after day in some crappy little crafting room. It's not like you can even chat whilst crafting you might miss a buff, explode and die...

Who was the !@#$%^&* that decided crafting had to be so complex ? They don't even have a clue regarding their own economy (that they say there so carefull to maintain an equitable balance) with the new 'super rare buff system' that was introduced in patch #6 gives one crafting class a 50 gold rare and another class a 2 gold rare if the buff ticks !

Evercamp 2, where care bears unite against the forces of sanity and I cant even PK the bastages !!!

Bring back the old days of UO, if ya didnt like some one, find them in the wild and kill them...
