I have my own server, all i really need to do is get a new dsl. One that has high upload. maybe around 3 megs up and 1 meg down or somethin. And wait till they debugg everything.

when i do i'll tell you guys and i'll be spreading the word around, so i think it would be fun.

check to see if "fiber to the curb" is in your area I know they were doing some beta testing araound the country you can get 10M up and 10M down

whats reccomended to host a server?

ok i geuss i dont know much about having a server for games but how are u going to host l2 i mean doesnt your computer have to communicate with the npc/monster/item/whateverelse server that nc soft has? when u install l2 is there a server install option that lets u act as a server?

no, he means the hacked private server. doesn't have to communicate with ncsoft at all.

oh yeah and soon I will be creating a website for my server, and also I might Charge for whoever wants to be a GM on my server, so it would help pay for the internet connection. Also, how many GM's should be on the server? Just some thoughts. eh. I also have connections to get the word out about my server IP. so i can probably get decent traffic in it.

FINALLY!! I was waiting for this, a private server =D!!!!!!!!! weeee!! PLEASE LET ME KNOW when you finish ^_^ I payed for L2 for about 2 months but then I stopped because I wanted to play FFXI wich Is AWSOMBE but since there are private servers for L2 ^_^ me is going to play =D!!!!!!!!!1

I hosted a eq emu server on my comp. Was cool started geting like 5-10 people playing at a time.

im still working on everything, one of my friends is gonna help with the site, and i have to wait till L2J gets all the bugs out also.

well to answer your question about how many gms to have.What nc did in lineage 1 is they had a gm that represented each area on the map in the gamelike 1 gm would be over 2 villagesaccording to how many people it usually occupy it. that worked really wel in lineage 1 because you were able to global chat for a gm and within 2-5 minutes he was helping you just a thought.
