Snobby high leveled WHM's : FFXI General Discussions

I was in a party in Valle of Sorrows yesterday, we pulled a Peryton, but it got the best of us, so we started running for the zone, me, the RDM, feeling heroic (lol) casted Sleep II on the sucker, low an behold it did not stick, but what did happen is it caused it to aggro me, so here I am at 185 Hit Points out of 815 still far from zone, knew I wasn't going to make it but kept running anyways, it got me. Ok, the other party saw it happen, they had a WHM, an LS friend of mine was trying to get her to raise me, well I waited like 15 minutes until I saw this tell, it said: "You're lucky I like RDM's, I don't support xp'ing without a WHM" then she casted Raise II on me, I, pissed off by now replyed, "since when did they start making snobby stuck-up WHM's like you??" she replyed "since all the WHM's have to do without exp due to people choosing SMN's or dual RDM's." I just let it go, I was so pissed off, an vowed that I would spread her name at all forums that I can find, btw, server I play on is Asura an the stuck ups name was Wyldfyre, if your on my server, please do one favor for me, give her a hard time. And I would also like to know what you all think of this...?

you are dumb. keep walking around expecting a raise 2 when you die from a whm even though you don't have one in your party, which means you are bugging another party...lessening their exp/hr. here is a good way to spite that whm...decline the raise, then eat the raise 1. there, all better.

It's not "bugging parties" when you ask a link member....Anyways most of the time people do dual RDM or SMN because none of the arrogant WHMs are lfp....

as a whm myself i will defend her for the simple reason she is right. it is almost like a pty in yhotar jungle i go there to lvl up not to spend alot of down time because some one aggros a gob and it kills every1 and then the only person i will raise is the whm that is in a party. if they have no whm oh well they should think about that when building a pty.

Briana, thats the prob at times your not always going to find a WHM to form a PT. There are many duel RDMs or SMNs out that is just as good as a WHM. So do not go ragging on PTs that do not have a WHM, because like in my server most of the WHM just sit in Jeuno all day doing nothing and say "I am busy or not in the mood."

A good PT leader will know how to build an effective PT with the available jobs that are out there.

yeah that is a very true statment when i lvl othere jobs i cant always find a whm myself but when we die i dont complain that the other whm's around wont raise all of us thats all i was saying and then if they do raise us we are very thankful so srry i didnt mean to offend any1

Well, when I tried becoming a White Mage there were too goddamn many, when I tried Thief, no one cared cuz I wasn't a Mithra. How the hell am I sposed to do a thing? I LOVED White Mage by the way, except for when you use Benediction and save 4 peoples' asses and they're like, "You shouldn't have done that. You lost experience." and I was like "Fine, I'll let you eat the ground." and left. Course got me a bad rep so no one would invite.

White Mages lives are HARD, but I understand the lack of them.

People get sick of doing the same ol' same ol', so they try out new jobs in WAVES, and the few dedicated get screwed over. I mean JESUS, do you see expensive White Mage gear? Only the elemental staves seem to be of any sort of a price tag... Monk, Rangers, and Ninjas have the problems financially. Onchiduo's Kote, expensive bows, one bow being the most expensive item in the game. Pro Monks later on take ninja sub and left-hand a Kraken Club well worth over 20 million.

OK im a 60/61 whm, (sorry i keep dieing and d'lvling a lot lately) and the way i see you are the primary medic in FFxi, so why would you !@#$%^&* about taking some down time to raise a PT? If i see a pt get wiped out, i will find there whm and raise him/her, split the rest up with him/her. If the pt doesn't have a whm then i raise the whole pt, though ive found a couple dual rdm pt's where the tank chose a raise1 from his rdm.

The whm in the valley of sorrows was completely in the wrong and heres why; Black Staff/Pluto's Staff +10/15 mp regen + Maron glaze +5mp regen = 15-20 mp more on the first tick, god... buy the time me recast time is up i have more than enough mp to raise the next person. So why not take a little time and be a good neigbhor not to mention a good sport to do the raises needed????? I'm not saying you should do it right away, but usually your own pt won't mind an AFK break at the end of an exp chain. Also, on the comment about whm gear being cheap!!! Sure makes me wish you could send stuff from server to server cause whm gear sure is NOT cheap on Shiva! Nobles tunic is over 6mil and climbing and i do believe Vermillion is already over 8mil (Shiva members correct me if im wrong here), hence the reason im working on clothecraft atm.

The only time I haven't raised a pt is one that tried to mpk my pt, we managed to only have one death during the escape spell. When we got back to the camp they had bitten off more than the could chew and were all dead, their whm had reraise 1 on but wanted raise 2 cause he would dlvl otherwise, told him "sorry eat the exp and by the way the GM was notified about the MPK".

Otherwise it is my personal belief that whm's should always be willing to raise others and if not in a pt throw out the ocassional cure's (lvling healing is always a good idea).

Neither Vermillion or Nobles is required gear, White Mages do perfectly well without them.

As for the white that gave the red that comment. I dont agree with it. One they did nothing wrong. They ask for a Raise if it really bothers the white so much just dont raise. I dont believe in Kicking people while they are down.

The way that I play if a pty does die. I will Raise them. Sometimes against the wishes of a PTY. I tell them I am a white I cant just leave someone dead when they ask me. WHAT IF THAT WAS YOU ASKING FOR THE RAISE. That usually shuts the whole pty up.

Yes I have lost Ptys because of Red's and Smn but its not their Fault. I am the one that Picked white so I have to Live with it. As a white that is one of ur main jobs to raise. I have made many friends like this. It saddens me to see a white so STUCK UP that would say that. It also makes me sick that someone would actually back up what that LOW CLASS SUB STANDARD PIECE OF TRASH said. Whites like that are the cause of Ptys picking RED's and SMN.

I am sorry if I come out kind of Strong but Their is no excuse for A white to act like that.

I think that guy must have been on crack or somethin, because if theres a whm LFG, most likely, its gunna get a party, if someone thinks that they would choose a rdm or a smn over a whm for a healer, then they should go shoot themselves.
Although rdm is good for backup and refresh, and smn are good for the buffs and the SC/MBs with their avatar, and they are good backup healers, when it comes down to it, nothin replaces whm

well, thats my 2 cents...or maybe more like 5...

Required and being whm gear are way different man. Whm gear is expensive if your actually going to equip yourself. Yeah im already a 75 whm with all my equips, but it took me 150 days of playtime to wrangle up the 60 mill in gear I wear.

A Eurytos bow is far from REQUIRED on ranger, its a luxury item as most things are. Relative to every job, what you can get by with and what you want to get by with. Every job except ninja and ranger are cheap if you think about requirements.

Some random comments..

You can't sleep greater birds with sleep spells, only with lullaby (and it doesn't work very well since they're light based).

E-bow sucks end-game, it's strictly an exp item (when you should be using a gun or xbow at that point too..)

At 75, I'm LFG for hours. Has nothing to do with my job or skill level, just that all the red mages / bards are wanted for ammo burns/etc.

Unless you're my friend or a fellow bst I'm not going to go out of my way to give you a raise 3 either.

Pluto's staff is only +10hMP. Same goes with the apollo's staff (only 10%).

Noble's tunic is a nice piece of gear but errant's is more important. Vermillion cloak is damn nice if you can get one at that level but not that important.

All in all, it's the dragoon of mage jobs. If I'm relaxing/farming and someone requests a raise and there's a white mage their level seeking.. Go ask elsewhere.

One Elemental Sleep works on Birds.

About the bow just because they are best at the point does not mean you must have them other can be used.

LVL 75 from what other LVL 75 tell me. You can go weeks before you get a PTY it is the norm at that LVL with any JOB.

Also you said about Raise 3. Ummmm the topic has nothing to do with this. The WHITE was in the area and asked a simple question.

I am pretty sure if the White helps you but before they Raise you they say. You should not be here. Next time bring a white so they can Raise your stupid !@#$%^&*. You would get a little upset at the person. 1st taught would be what crawled up your !@#$%^&* and died.

Again if you are in the area and someone asked you for a raise a simple NO will do. If you decided to help them you dont need to kick them will they are down.

Telling them what they did is dum or how they should have done it.


ANYWAY
The point is SIMPLE

If you get asked for a Raise and you agree to Raise them. Raise them you do not need to give them a life story about how hard your job has been. WHY you ask?
1) All they ask is for a Raise
2) They dont care about what your opion is! If they did they would ask?
3) All jobs have the Pros and Cons.
4) Everyone and I MEAN EVERYONE makes mistakes. Sometimes you die form them and sometimes you are able to escape.
5) You are not better than anyone else no matter how HOLY you think you are.
6) You agreed to help them!
7) If you didnt want to help them then you should not have agreed to do it in the 1st place.
