well marshal, your not alone. I can't get any bots to work either. I think SOE nerfed them all. You probly have to be a programer to figure out a way around it. Im pretty sure their are a couple of those SOE guys apart of this forum and that is how they are able to nerf these things so quickly. most of the really good hacks and exploits have been nerfed as well:(

Why go to all the work of leveling a tradeskiller yourself when you can just !@#$%^* about the economy and encourage botters to ruin the economy just so you can buy your armour cheap from sombody who actualy did the work...!@#$%^* asshat. Know this: if the economy seriously goes to hell in a hand basket, you still wont get your gear 'cheap'. Most tradeskillers (who haven't already) will drop out, and the few left will charge even more to compensate for thier time. Thats what your paying for, time. So what you want is everyone elses time to be worthless, except yours, of course.

right se if they made it so every one had to buy there stuff from tradeskiller like they do house stuff now then that wuld make it so all the tradeskillers would make all the money so there for every one would charge alot and then people would have to ay the price that tradeskillers wanted i think that would be nice that would make the economy go to hell and make the ones who are a good lvl rich and the others our cattle ha haa ha ha

Look, I was a prov. before it became popular, so I can tell you first hand how this works: people will go where the money is. When they changed the durrations and made it easier for adventures to see what food/drink would be the best for them, there was a huge spike in demand for my product. I charged a fair price (IMHO). Most people who were in my level range were really gouging, but of course thats all subjective. With t4 5 hour drinks going for over a gold apice, its not hard to figure out why suddenly everyone and thier mother had a prov. alt. This not only raised the price of raws, but dropped the price of finished products. There will always be sombody willing to sell for less than you- if theres any niche that is enjoying a high profit margin, people will flock to it, and prices will quickly normalize (after dropping unnaturaly low).

You would not benefit from the economy 'crashing and burning'. period. Its all subjective, so if the value of coin drops, prices will go up to compensate. and vice versa. The only way your going to see a buyers market is if theres an imballance, and, even if you happen to be on the right side of the coin, it will be short lived. As for 'the ones who are a good level yada yada yada'- its not hard to level up a toon...the caps are so low atm that you can grind any toon to max level in a few weeks. So what you really want is to simply ruin the game for the casual player.

Personaly, Im fine with the economy. I'm the richest player on my server, and in the top 20 worldwide. Its treated me pretty good. Rather than wishing the game economy would fall apart, how bout just playing the game the way it was intended, and looking for ways to make coin legitimately. If you had even a passing understanding of basic economics, you would realize there are legal ways to make large amounts of coin just playing the broker and knowing what a given items real value is (by 'real', I mean the limit you can resell it for a justifiable profit- its all pixels, so none of it is actualy 'real' nor does it have any actual value).

Furthermore- there is nothing that is really that important- a causal player, buying or questing gear appropriate for thier level, and buying app4's from contacts they establish in the game will be competitive- theres simply not much if any real 'uber gear'. The game is almost overballanced in that regard- there are almost no standout items that will make anyone drool, and any advantage gained by having them is negligable. Just play the game and don't worry about who has what- the gear will come naturaly. Beyond the basics, any extra coin is just fluff- and anything you could buy is fluff- even the 10 plat horse is only a bit faster than sow stacked with the /claimed jboots (you can buy a preorder cd to get them for less than 10 bucks on playerauctions, ebay, etc.).

Its getting harder and harder not to flame here, so please, your best bet would be to simply stop while your ahead...er...well, just stop.

It's one thing complaining about the economy and how it's treating you "unfairly", but it's entirely a different thing to be sarcastic and ask disco for a "hand out" just because he's the richest player on his server. Nothing worse than a begger IMO. It's not disco's responsibility to feed the poor.

I /agree with discoduck - play the damn game and earn your coin. I'm just now starting to realize profit from my seller and understand the basics of the EQ2 economy (what sells for what, what doesn't sell, etc.). It won't happen overnight, and chances are you won't see your first plat immediately, but you don't have to worry about spending your money for armor (and ESPECIALLY FURNITURE!) until later on down the road.

If you're a mid level toon (i.e., 20+) your Armor Quests will provide more than enough AC until you're 30. By that time, and if you are leveling in adventuring and tradeskilling, you'll accumulate enough coin to sustain your new spells and nifty armor for 30+. Hopefully by that time you'll have some good contacts in the crafting soceity who will be willing to work with you and not gouge you to death for their services.

Bottom line - don't ask for a hand me out simply because you are not willing to put the time in to max your tradeskiller out. Even with all the nerfs to Tradeskills and what have you, it's still extremely profitable - hell, I just pulled in 15+ gold last night - that was one night.

Beg again and I recommend a ban.

ok one im not beging and two shut the hell up im doing my part i cant get the macros working and i got a lvl 30 armorer and i lvl 19 prov and my main is lvl 33 and my two alts r lvl 19 and 23 and i got the money i need i was just saying that the way its going the people that just play once and a while wont be able to do anything cause they cant get the coin to start and for disco i was just saying he dont care bout other people cause he has got lots of money so i was saying if he was to give 75 % of it up then he would be saying the same thing so take ur damn finger pointing and stick it up ur !@#$%^* and if i get band then well this forum is kind of weak if they cant take a little comment any way im done here so think on that a while and I AM NOT ASKING FOR HAND OUTS I NEVER HAVE AND NEVER WILL SO FIND OUT THINGS BEFOR U JUST START TALKING !@#$%^* BOUT SOME ONE

See the problem with this is.. the botters add platinum to the economy.. they're not driving prices down, rather, they'll drive prices up.

The more the botters run.. the more platinum is in the economy.. the more dropped armor, and rares will cost.

granted.. the normal tradeskill armor might go down in price everything else just gets higher in price.

agree- theres really 2 kinds of botters- 'real' players who just want to eliminate some of the timesinks like tradeskill grinding, and 'professional' botters who bot to make coin for resale. The player botters IMHO don't have a significant inpact on the economy- they're not doing anything they couldn't do if they didn't mind sitting at a crafting station or running around harvesting mindlessly for 12 hours (which alot of people actualy do). The harvesters may create a slight supply/demand imballance, and drive down the cost of raws somwhat (since they typicaly go into vendor mode fully stocked, and need to sell out to make room for the next day). The 'professional' botters, who do things like run full groups farming t5 zones 24/7 are the ones who will have a greater impact on the economy- as tbi said- they devalue coin because they are actualy bringing new money into the economy (selling to NPCs, whereas to casual botters are selling to other players), and they also make dropped items more difficult to obtain because they typicaly employ tactics that allow them to monopolize a given spawn, meaning it will be difficult for other players to get the items themselves, and, since they're farming coin, tend to put valuable items up for sale at the highest price possible. I've also seen them use real players as 'fences'- they establish a relationship with a small group of players to whom they sell all thier common chest drops for a fixed rate, and let the player do the work of trying to resell them. I've been aproached twice by them (via in-game mail- english is clearly not thier first language), they were careful about not saying anything too incriminating, but they basicly told me they could supply me with a large number of adept1 books, recipe books, and gear on a daily basis at 'wholesale' prices. Problem was, they weren't really offering that good of a deal (3gp apice for t5 adept1s, for example), and large chest/steel chest drops they wanted more than I could have gotten them for on the broker, even with the markup.

Again, while professional botters do have a significant impact on the economy, it will never be in a way that benefits you as a player. Unless you happen to be buying plat offline- in that case they have already done you a huge favor- prices for plat have been dropping steadily for some time now- just a few months ago I was making more money selling off a few extra plat every week than I do at my RL job- now, I'd have to sell around 100pp a week to see the same income, if anyone was buying, which they're not. Prices have dropped so low as to make it a realistic option for even the most casual players, meaning theres more and more 'cheap' coin going into players pockets, which, again, will only make buying your gear more expensive (esp. if your raising coin the old fashioned way).

Hmmm...don't see anywhere in the above text where you mentioned to disco to give up 75% of his coin. Funny...You said you weren't asking for handouts, yet you asked him to share some of his money.

If you have a lvl 33 main and a lvl 30 armorer, then why are you so strapped for cash? Quit sending, build up a "savings" and then you can splurge on the pretty things...

I just bought a pet last night for my home because I've been saving up all sorts of coin from my provisioner and selling my wares to the merchants.

Not to brag or to keep dragging this pointless conversation on any further, but I do have one bit of advice - use a period every now and then. It makes for easier reading.

hey you guys should lighten up, after all its only a game. there is no reason to get all bent out of shape. If you hAVE trouble crafting try adventuring for all your coin. this is what i do. adventureing is more fun anyway. plus the items you get for quests are better than most of the stuff you can buy.
