Is there any sort of guide on this thing, I've gotten this harvester to start running in Antonica, but then it wanted to run all the way acrossed the map, then the game crashed, so I never got to see it in action. Do you have to go in and edit waypoints in the INI file? any info would be appreciated,

If you want to harvest via waypoints it is best if you add them in the .ini file.

In the INI file that came with the harvester, antonica came loaded with waypoints, can waypoints be turned off or just delete them.

Also for a zone that doesn't have waypoints loaded into the INI (ex Peat Bog) how does the bot act in that zone?

Version 4.02 will have a bugfix with the reply key pausing the script when hotekys aren't used.

Additionally, I am adding full support for sirusdv's AIM plugin (service). Currently, it will use this service to:

IM you when it harvests an uncommon or rare node
IM you when it is stuck
IM you when you receive a tell, with the tell message and who it is from
IM you on a configurable interval (with general stats), or not at all
Relay text from you to the game via IM (remote-control chat, etc.)
Accept commands to control the bot's behavior by updating or turning off the update interval, getting a detailed update, and exiting the bot.

Here's a log of the IM conversation between me and the IM-enabled bot. There are no examples of me sending tell's back and forth to anyone for reasons of privacy and the pretty bold and color formatting was removed for the forums, but you get the idea:

Sounds like a good Update can't wait till it comes out.

I have a question, in the description it says this bot avoids agro, but how do you set it or turn it on, cause this thing keeps running into agro on me

What can the AIM plugin do for me? Send me an AIM Message when it harvests something rare or when its stuck? That doesnt make sense for me, because you have to leave the EQ2 window open all the time, so you cant do anything else. When its harvests something or get stuck you can see it if you are in front of the computer, the plugin doesnt help this way. When you are AFK and doing something else you cant see whats going on and when you get an AIM message, you cant see it, because you are AFK......
So whats the sense of this plugin, i didnt get it.

You obviously don't have a laptop on wLAN, a secondary or family computer in another room, or an AIM-enabled phone. In this case, there's little this extension will do to help you monitor and remote-control your bot. However, there is still more applications for this extension, such as letting the bot run AFK and having a friend monitor it while you're gone for a while. Not that I promite this kind of gameplay (it's cheating), but the ability to do so is still there.

So will 4.02 be supported under the regular service? I don't have other computers in the other part of the house or anything and I am not sure I am brave enough to wonder to far from the puter while a bot is in motion so I am not sure this service would be of great use for me (not saying in the future it won't but atm as I understand it's use it won't).


Just making sure it will still be functional under the regular service.

The bot will support the AIM service, not require it. It has the following configurable options (so far):

[AIM]
WantToUseAIM = True
Login = BOTSCREENNAME
Password = PASSWORD
Authorized = YOURSCREENNAME
UpdateInterval = 5

If WantToUseAIM is set to False, the service/plugin isn't loaded, which means you don't need to have it installed at all if the feature doesn't interest you.

The AIM service supports this, but HarvestBot won't make use of it for next release. I'll expand it's functionality to allow more a more flexible alert system in the future.

Is the log file analysis working for anyone? That it goes on to the next harvest node when the actual node is empty? Or that it quits on tell? This isnt working for me. Can anyone tell me where and which line i have to edit that it is working for my non us client?
I think it isnt reading my logfile at all.

I think it isnt reading my logfile at all. It counts the raws ingame, does this mean its reading my log file?


Assuming you have the log on and it's reading it correctly (which it appears to be, given that you describe the bot reading your harvest counts correctly), then it probably isn't recognizing that you are harvesting and thus marking the node as bad after no successful harvests past timeout. Most non-English language versions are having this problem. Maybe we'll have a dictionary file you can swap out for other languages, but for now you either have to live with this problem or edit the script code to suit your needs.
