no it will not help a PS2 player at all.
it still amazes me how people cannot get the differences between a computer and a gaming console.
on a side note there are possibly 2 ways that this could help you.
1) you download a copy of FFXI for computer using your computer and use your PS2 keys to install and log into your PS2 POL I.D. *which does work BTW and vice vers. because i have both PS2 and Computer versions purchased and i have both accounts stored on both systems and can log into any one of them except for at the same POL I.D. ACT. at the same time ofcoarse*
2) it is possible that if the XBox 360 is as easy to be modded as the first Xbox was, it is a remote possiblility that you can mod it into a computer form and then run it that way. but then again none of us knows how that is going to go atall yet.
that is my 2 cents on the matter, I seriously suggest option #1 it is such a better game on the Computer. and if you like the way that the PS2 controller controls your charater and interfaces with FFXI more than the keyboard / mouse you can always get a PS2 -> USB adapter and play that way. that is the way i play it on my PC so enjoy
