Guild: Freeport - 4 city writs completed in 45 minutes : EverQuest 2 General Discussions

Since the recent (well it was a few months ago) change to city writs I have been searching for ways to get the same effect of 2 writs for the same mobs. It used to be that you could do peons and explorers and account for 4 writs on the two mobs, one per zone (Lavastorm - Everfrost) however due to a live update they had altered this. You may recall this time it is when Rockpickers an Harvesters were introduced; I still curse the day as multiple guild spams of “…has completed a writ earning status for the guild!” are no longer as easy as they once were. Or are they?

So all of this time I have been stuck retrieving four writs featuring four different mobs. I did however stumble upon a seemingly little know set very recently which has me looking to the days of old!

** Note: To successfully pull this off as described you must have the Call of Ro completed. This is essential in the second "hop" of this method. To find the details on that quest you may visit you favorite quest spoiler site and search for the quest named "Becoming a citizen of Ro." Additionally this run works best at level 56 as the surrounding mobs will no longer be aggro and the target mobs will still be green giving you the remotely slight chance of a chest drop and vendor foods. Although this is the case it can still be completed between levels 46 and 60 safely with some care and/or patience. **

The first step of any city writ is to grab the tasks. Please proceed to the following locations to retrieve your city tasks.

STEP 1
1. T, -he Academy of Arcane Science: Thurmaturge Ranollious (+17, -42, -145) – You , -will wish to accept the “Secrets of the Flame” task. – Level 46 task
2. The Temple of War: Forbidden Lore (-78, -8, -162) – You will want to accept the “Gnawing their hearts away hungrily” task. – Level 47 task

STEP 2
Now start your timers! Immediately head to the East Freeport Docks and purchase a ticket for the boat ride to Nektelous forest. Now you may be saying “I only have 2 writs, what gives?!” but please curb your enthusiasm for one moment as you see the magic unfold.

When you arrive in Nektelous, head to the end of the docks and take the harbor bell of your right to Lavastorm. When you have zoned, proceed to the second main area to you right where the first spire lighting takes place for the Saving Soles heritage quest (aprox -730, -100, +296).

STEP 3
Your writs will be for “a magma worm” which are solo mobs, level 46 with a single down arrow. Beat them to the ground with reckless abandon. Once you have killed 25 total (23 for the Secrets of the Flame and 25 for Gnawing Their Hearts Away Hungrily) immediately “Call of the Overlord” back to Freeport.

Upon arriving, retrieve the same city tasks again and proceed with Step 2. Once you have killed them again your timer should be around 38 to 40 minutes remaining until you can use “Call of the Overlord.” Since your Overlord call is down, use your “Call of Ro” function to be whisked away to Maj’Dul.

Once you have arrived at Maj’Dul, take the carpet to Sinking Sands where you will be placed right in front of the carpet that will take you back to Freeport. Upon arriving in Freeport perform step 1 and continue through step 3, the of slaughtering the magma worms.

Upon completing the writ cycle this time, your “Call of the Overlord” should once again be available. You know the drill, hit “Call of the Overlord” and continue alternating between “Call of the Overlord” and “Call of Ro” until you have reached the desired level /experience increase for the guild.

This method becomes even more effective if you are able to assign your bind spot outside of the Arcane Science Academy. Doing this you can achieve respectable levels of guild status to show off to all your friends and in effect, get quite a movement in the guild experience bar with only yourself performing this technique. Sure it may sound tedious and boring but when was that last time you have a fun writ? Since the last setup like this eventually became nerfed because the Qeynosian’s did not have anything comparable and would effectively be rendered of little use with guild writs, I do not anticipate that this will continue forever.

So in summary, if you wish to build quick and steady personal and guild status start now and don’t let up!

Hmm, so I am juding by the lack of interest in this post (or activity that is) that either
a. People dont care about guild level or personal status.
b. Poeple have a better way then this.
c. No one likes to writ.

Could be any of the three. If B is correct and someone has a better method for gaining guild status via writs (i.e. knows of a better mob combination) then I would love to hear it!!

And anyways, hello everyone :) Just thought I would stop bacak in to see if anyone had commented on my guide because I am using it quite heavily. Looking for feedback on it as I am trying to do mass writs / personal status accumulation.
