When kiting, what's better to use, short bow or long bow, and why?

I don't play a kiting class but IMO a long bow would be better as it seems to give you a longer range to keep mobs at bay.

Just my 2 cents...

If you have a good horse then long bow, otherwise short bow because you can get off more shots usually I find, and if you get a pristine embued shortbow then you'll do almost as much damage as a pristine embued longbow, because the added damage is the same.

horses dont affect run speeds in battle i dont think, in fact i dun think anything increases your run speed in battle except for sprint, but in my opinion, its whatever does the most DPS cuz you just gotta keep the mob snared

It seems, from my experiences atleast, that I don't slow down (lose horse buff) until a monster actually hits me. Could be just in my head though.

I gotta try it when I get home to confirm but I also have the 'feeling' I run faster with my horse... away from an aggro mob, that is... Maybe thats just wishful thinking, hehe.

When it comes to deciding on a bow, I just look at the damage rate of the weapon.

foul, i dont think it is supposed to keep your speed, cuz whenever i kite, i slowdown myself, or maybe it is i who is crazy...=P

i kart on a troubador, i only have 1 bow spell besides regular ranged attack... so i like a long bow and this is why

1. This one is the most imporetant to me because keeps you far away from mobs, (with a short bow you still get hit every once in a while) so if your snare fails you have time to recuperate... stun it, w/e, to pass time to get snare up, also i have noticed that with jboots 10% you can kite with no snare, difficult but you can.

2. Harder hit and more chance of procs, the slower the weapon delay is the more ive noticed it proc... maby just me, maby i smoked to much or something... but thats the way i see it.
