Crafting assistance. : FFXI General Discussions

I have read quite a great deal of threads on crafing and quick leveling them on this site, but i have yet to see any of the following. These images are not my own creations, but I thought they might help.

I dont remember where i got this one but there is a lot of versions out there.

The compass works simple. You face the direction depending on the crystal you are using and what you want. If you were using an Earth Crystal you would face SE when attempthing the synth for HQ/Skillups, but for Success rate you would face directly south. Hope this helps everyone.

i thought for HQ you go the weakest day against that crystal.. and that is for HQ only not NQ or skillup

If i understand you correctly, that is exactly what the second chart implies. An example is a Fire Crystal on Watersday. Your HQ chances go up just like you said. The directional compass is made from a a chart in the game in Sandy. I forget who off the top of m head but they mention the Avatars and the direction they relate to. This would imply the directional strengths. I have tested both of these myself and they work. I have cooking 73 and using the hq directions i saw 2-3x more skillups then other directions. Combined with the element day it makes crafting much easier.

According to several experienced crafters, directional facing *does not* affect synthesis results. However, the crystal/day of craft information appears accurate.

A lot of people are 50/50 on it, I believe it does... but don't take my opinion for it.

Yes a lot of people tend to be reluctant to believe the compass. The only reason i even gave it a second glance is because of the in game refrence to the avatars and their elements relationg to elements.
