Okay well ive done this quite a few times on my blm and its the best xp ive ever gotten so i decided to post somewhere and this site was bookmarked!

Alright what ull need is 1 pld and 5 blm
Have the paladin pull back a mob and after about 7 secs from the first voke have all the blms cast there strongest spell, usualy within 1 or 2 casts the mob will be dead, heal the pld rinse and repeat, my blm was only lvl 32 when i was doing this so i dont know how efective it will be at higher lvls, but at lvl 32 this was the best xp ive ever gotten in my ffxi carreer

5 Blm 1 Brd would be better.

Brd pulls and sleep mob, blm nuke , slp, nuke, slp until mob dead.
Can easily get 7k exp +++ per hour at lvl 75.

Best time to manaburn is in the 50's tbh. Works higher too, but not as well (mobs have many more hp, and at 75 there are no mobs strong enough really - you fight mobs that give almost capped exp if you can.)

5 BLM + BRD ftw!

You fight monsters about 10-12 levels higher than your group. BRD pulls, sleeps, blms all Freeze (or Burst or whatever) together. Rest. Repeat.

Doing it before 51 is tough.

Yup. That's why there is a +++++ with 7k like minimum.

@ lvls 73-75 there's an alternative is there's no Bards available.

Setup: NIN, RDM or BRD, SMN, 3xBLM

Camp: Lufaise Meadows, where the Birds and the Rams spawn.
There's 2 camps there, one just in the end of the tunnel, another one in the ramp that leads to the Bluebade Falls. If you camp in the ramp, be careful with the Fomor that spawn on the top.

Strategy: RDM or BRD pulls, NIN gains 100% TP ASAP, then Blade: Ku > Shiva: Double Slap = Distortion, Burst with Blizzard IV (Birds are weak to Ice, Rams take Ice spells very well). Rinse and repeat.

Notes:
That area can support two competent parties. If you have two good to awesome parties you may lack prey at times.

The Birds in Misareaux Coast and Lufaise Meadows are different to the ones you might have been exping in Valley of Sorrows.
They still have the same TP Moves (Feather Shield, Triple Attack, Gliding Spike, Scratch...), but they drop Wind and not Light crystals and they have MP that can be nicely Aspir-ed.

The Rams have two nasty AoEs, one is a directional AoE that causes Petrification and the other one is a Max HP down AoE.
There's no much you can do to counteract the first one, apart from ensuring that in the unlikely case it fires it only hits the NIN, as you won't get Stona from a WHM sub. At this very moment I don't remember if Spring Water deals with petrification.
You need Erase to deal with the second one.
Plan acordingly. Most likely SMN will have /WHM sub, so Spring Water and Erase are your friends.
Both AoE range is smaller than casting range, so there's no reason why anyone but the NIN should get hit by a TP move. The mobs are gaining just enough TP for a move before being killed, as only one player is meleeing them.

i wouldmt suggest burst/freeze....just high tier 'aga' it...drops fast and less mp/time wasted.

ive been playing brd lately, but honestly, I think im just gna go blm...brd is SO boring, and im only 46

Robber crabs in Cape Terrigan get owned by Burst with 4 Blms, so you can go for quite sometime in Cape Terrigan against Pugils too.

The party I usually use is Ninja or Paladin as tank & puller, with a refresher, and the rest filled with real damage dealers.

I had recently heard from a ls that SE was going to make BLM horrible if there are more than one in a pt.

the reason being was the BLM were "to powerful"

I feel bad because my BLM was just able to get into the lv range where you could Manaburn effectively.

I hope SE will delay this dreadful edit untill I get to 75 and get my fill of manaburns

nope
they only said they want to make blm more appeal to "ordinary" party set up.
they did not mention weakenning blm at all.
