Someone got banned using the Windower : FFXI General Discussions

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet. I've just used the search function to find something similar, but I didn't find any.

Apparently, this guy had the Windower and FFAssist running and he got banned for it. There are several speculations on how he got banned, but the person insist that those instances did not happen. There's a link that leads to a fairly large thread. I guess for now we should lay off the Windower until there is a more stable version. If you notice on the inidividual's post, he posted the topic yesterday. So, it was after that massive update. Then again, if SE starts suspending/banning people for using the Windower, SE is going to lose 90% of its gamers.

that is at gmt-8(PST) so he posted it 6 hours and 48 minutes BEFORE the update.

my guess is he got banned for other reason. But he only admit windower + ffassist because they are acceptable form of 3rd party apps.

Most likely he used FFAssist together with the windower and they saw the /echo commands.

or maybe the dude said something in the LS like "I use windower and FFAssist..." and then there was somebody in the LS who had a GIGANTIC Grudge against the dude.... and called a GM.... then the GM investigated and found enough evidence and had to do something.

Cuz if GMs does have sufficient evidence.... about somebody using Windower, they do have to ban them or give them temp ban... or they lose their job.

Lol but GMs dont just go out of no where checking on ppl's Chats and making sure they dun see windower or something... they just dun have that much time to waste. lol.

Hmmm, those warp tarus used to be one of the tricks I used to warp around windurst without getting the "You cannot enter next area" (since you only got that from crossing a zoneline too soon, not if you warped/tele'd).

When did you take that screenshot? After the recent update?

Today. Everytime I would try to go to a warp npc(I wasn't even hacking or botting) it would just flat out disconnect me.

Actually I would advise against all use of windower until a new version is posted.

As Foodnbazzar's screenie shows, there are several places where you can be booted for windower use.

1. Anytime you try to get signet or sanction and use windower... kicked.

2. Anytime you try to use a warp NPC (Al Zahbi, Windhurst, Outpost NPC, etc.) you get kicked.

There maybe other "triggers" so be careful.

For those that dont know, XU has a window option in it. It is fairly safe, however, it doesnt have some of the neat fancy things that the other one has.

Its not only the warp tarus that are doin this.. Signet/ Sanction NPC and CS BCNM fights are doin this to me as well.. i hope someone finds a way around this, very inconventional for me! lol
