Crafting Hack/Exploit: Is it real? : FFXI General Discussions

Hey guys, I've been noticing a few JP players lately craft HQ's one after another. There is this Goldsmither on my server who goes into her Mog House then come's out with 3-4 Triumph Rings +1 in a row... To my knowledge she has never NQ'd this ring. She has about a dozen of them in her bazaar...

My question: Is there some JP originating Hack out there geared specifically for HQ Crafting?

Yes you can craft in your mog house.

Depending on day, moon, or whatever, you can HQ alot. Some days i could HQ things 5+ times in a row. Other days i cant HQ at all...

Maybe they where just crafting at the right time?

understanding it all would be great.. i still haven't found a crafting guide that gives a good understanding of HQing, or even skilling up... my new character i got to lvl 63 cooking in like 3 days... only because i was using dark, light, fire, water, and wind staves while crafting.. and facing opposite directions.. but this doesn't work for HQ... >.>;

Right....I'm not an expert, but here are the basics.

To improve HQ chance you can:

- Stand facing the right direction (based crystal - direction for HQ is same as skillup).

- Be high skill level. This is the most useful.

:1-10 higher than cap = approx HQ chance of 1-2%

:11-30 higher than cap = approx HQ chance of 5-10%

:31-50 higher than cap = approx HQ chance of 25-30%

:51+ higher than cap = approx HQ chance of 50%


- Do it on a full moon, or close to one. This is really helpful I find. I have no real knowledge of new moon crafting.

- Do it on the right day (weather may well affect this too - I don't know).

There was another one that was really cool, but I can't find it right now >_<. It told you %age modifications to HQ chance and fail chance based on Crystal type vs Day.

You guys don't seem to understand...

Triumph Ring is a 99 Cap Item. there is a 2% chance to HQ this even at 100+6...

To get 4-5 in a row is miraculous at best. To do it consistently... is even beyond that. This is why I believe they 'might' be hacking, know an exploit, or they are just extremely lucky.

I have never seen this person craft or sell an NQ Triumph Ring. They've always been +1's.

You don't actually *know* how many she is getting NQ on. You just 'know' that she isn't bazaaring them.


Crafting knowledge of NA players is not that far behind JP players any more. You should be able to get a similar success rate.

I always craft in my moghouse for one.. it seems to work the best i believe that synth's are area sensitive, like when someone runs infront of you crafting by the ah you almost always see it break ^^ or if you get a little bit of lag - boom.. i think the furnishings you use in your mog house can be extremley benifical to your hq rate, including that of your guild. note* new Mog Locker With Upgrades can hold up to 80 item's i believe, this gives you alot more space to focus furnishings in your mog house for specific needs." - something to look into maybey as far as crafting goes
