Acct Hacked cuz of element enhancer program? : FFXI General Discussions

Hello,

I got my account hacked, sad part is, while my account was hacked into and the pwd got changed so i logged into my friends account and reported it to a GM who refused to do anything despite me proving my ID via credit card info, address, cd key, etc.

Anyhow, the only reason i can think of is cuz of the element enhancer program. I downloaded a regedit here to make it free off this website (can't find the link). I got it a while back but never bothered to use it til recently. So that is the only thing different that i can think of that would get me hacked.

Has anyone else heard of this? Or has been hacked recently?

Probably had a trojan in it. If you still have the program scan it in this http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus.html

But other then that, call POL, maybe you can still get your account back. But you will have to wait till Monday-friday.

Also maybe say you forgot your password, and have the info to back up your claim, then change your password, but do this on the a non infected computer.

you know whats sad, like, whoever hacked me, kicked me off of POL, then changed my pwd.

So right away i logged onto a friends char (dont worry i had him change his pwd right after i was done with his account, which he did), and i call a GM.

So i'm like, hey GM, this dude is hacking my account. My name is xxxxxx, my pol id is xxxxx, and if you need any more information to prove my identity, just ask.

GM>> well, that's too bad i really can't do anything for you. However, call POL on monday they can help you. I'm sorry.

Me>> send him to jail.

GM>> can't, no one has reported him for anything.

Me>> I'm reporting him now.

GM>> Sorry can't help you.

Me>> Why not?

GM>> I just can't.

Me>> check his logs then plz.

GM>> I can't, we only check chat / trade logs if someone is reported for harassment or scamming.

Basically i got to watch my char move around vanadiel while GM couldn't help me. GG.

Gotta wait til monday to see the damage on my char.

look, GMs are NOT gods that can do everything. They have limited power, and do not provide a one-click-fix for your individual needs. They are not high up in SE rankings, they are people just like you and me. Try to put yourself in their shoes before you start assuming that they cant do their job correctly or effeciently.

It's been proven time after time they cannot do their jobs correctly. I have many many SS's of getting mpk'd by other people, griefing done, and GM has always in 95% of each case let me down. I have video of griefing and MPK as well, and GM just ask me how i got those screenshots/video as if I was the person doing the bad thing.

In the present case they simply had to throw the character in jail for 3 days. I even offered to refile a new GM claim about harassment on the character. I had all the pre-reqs for validating who i was, they simply refused to take action. No, they are not gods, and yes they have limited power, but what limited power they have was enough to provide a remedy.

They are people, so they should be more flexible instead of sticking to a lame !@#$%^&* script that i've read so many times i just answer their questions before they ask.

Look i fu*ked up, its my mistake, but still there should be more avenues available instead of 9-5 mon-fri customer support. We do pay a monthly fee do we not? It seems to me that the golden time to hack anyone is after POL customer support closes for the weekend. From what i've been told from my friends who migrated to WoW, the customer support there is leaps and bounds better than SE.

GMs are good for 1 thing, teleporting you out of spots off the map due to shoddy coding.

yes, but only to your and other players standards. Just because you think a GM should be able to do something simple like teleport a player for questioning, does not mean they can. Until we see the official rules for being a GM, we can never be sure if they do their job correctly.

yeah i did, with most of my gear gone but thankfully the rare/ex stuff that i can't earn back is still here.

If SE should just track who was online IP address, then see where your gil/items were sent.

Atleast you got your acc back.... Be thankful of that... I remember when I used to play Runescape... I used to all kinds of scamming !@#$%^&* in that game... I was sooooooo rich... Then someone hacked me and I have no idea how still to this day.... Took allllllllllll my stuff and left me with nothing..... Then I went nuts and started scamming and cheating and botting all over the place... Got banend for violated EVERY SINGLE ONE of the Terms and Conditions... They said that I was lucky they didn't report me to the authorities...
