The following realms are recommended when starting out new characters:

Normal (PvE)
Ghostlands
Hellfire
Nagrand

PvP
Auchindoun
Shattered Halls

Role-Playing (PvE)
The Sha'tar

Role-Playing PvP
Sporeggar
