Get more then one level at a time (need confirmation help) : Vanguard Premium Discussions

I tried this with a new character (Dark Elf), in the starting city. Right before I leveled to level 2 I found a server line, killed something as I was running over the server line killed it leveled while running back and forth over the server line, I kept leveling I went from level 1 to level 12 before I lagged out and re-started, logged back in and I was level 12. I had another buddy of mine do it; he was level 13 and went from 13 to 15. I decided to post here to help confirm this. This was on the FFA PVP server I have not tried on other servers. I have done this a few times with a new Character. But my buddy only seems to get an extra level or 2; I don’t know if it depends on what area you are at. BUT an EXTRA level or 2 is better then nothing.

interesting. i walked through a zone border the other day and made note of it. i wanted to see if i could get a dupe out of it or something but haven't gotten around to testing it yet.

couple questions though, you only killed that one monster as you crossed? and you kept on going back and forth until you lagged out? i'll have to give this a shot. thanks

could you post better directions? Did you kill the mob then chunk, and continue to chunk back and forth? Or did you happen to kill the mob right as you chunked and then chunk back and forth? Or did you start attacking a mob and chunk back and forth as you killed it?

I only killed one monster/animal thing, I pulled him towards the server line and killed as i was about to cross, so when he did die and i was leveling i guess u could say i was on the server line, or might be right passed it, then walked right back over, and over till i lagged out from the server line. It works with leggins to if u trade.

Ive tried reproducing this may times. I made about 15 new lvl 1 alts got xp to 1 kill away from ding, got to a zone line and tried to kill it as i went over, right before i went over, and as i was on the other side. The only thing that happened for me was under my name it showed lvl 1 and my xp was the same as before the kill yet i dinged lvl 2. the next kill put me to where i should have been. Im not sure if im missing anything any more information would be much appreciated.

I dont get it really Ive tried to find the server chunk change in Dark Elf land and couldnt find it so I went to my main and I wont get to the level point you suggested for a while

Nay tryed it twice now at a higher lvl. No luck :/

will try when i get home...ive got a very high ping rate as it is so i may have better luck..lol

oh and on a side note.. as a necro, my pet seems to unsummon whenever i cross server lines...good way to tell where they are.

Easiest way to find a chunk is just follow a road with your torch on - any time the game pauses a little, look to see if your torch is casting the full 360 degrees; if you're crossing a chunk, you'll clearly see the line where your torch's light ends. Even in daytime you can use this, although you have to look a little harder.

As for the exploit, I tried this many, many times, in a couple of different starting areas (including Hathor Zhi), and couldn't get this to work. Gotta say Nay.

yeah with a ping of 300-400 i couldnt get this to work...no nay...

Although its not a leveling glitch but along the same lines. I am a Ranger and noticed that my temp pet (which is bs btw) was about to despawn and right when I crossed a zone line the control box for him poofed away. I thought he was gone so here I am running for a damn good ways passed the zone line and long after the control box was gone there was my pet racing along behind me. Had him for an hour before I logged to go back to work. I couldnt control him or anything else but have him follow me but he was there. So there is defiantely something to this. I will try and repeat this later tonight, but it did happen got screen shots of him there with no control box.
