when looting corpses, only one person can open the loot window at a time. this is not true for chests. if you're in a group, the whole party can get the items from the chest. to do this, everyone opens the same chest so the loot window opens, but everyone must hit "take all" at the same time and everyone will get the items.

i imagine in upper level places chest loot won't be so craptacular so perhaps it has potential later.... but yeah. it's just one more thing to exploit.

works, my !@#$%^*...

last night, I was in an infinium group grinding in the Vii area when we found the chest there. 2 of us tried to open it, the other bastard got to it first, and when I tried to click on the chest, it gave the stock "that object is in use" responce. unless you know a way around this, it can't work.

It just occured to me that you "might" be able to get multiple loot windows open on those if each person takes turns useing it, then waits till everyone has the item open.... we were raceing like gredy wow noobs to the chest, he beat me by about a second. I knew it was crap, but was trying to be an !@#$%^*.

well that's the thing. it takes coordination. if all you're doing is trying to loot in a fast every-person-for-themselves-manner, it won't work. i'm not claiming this may work on all containers or harvesting nodes either.

next time, actually try using the method listed, instead of just saying "one time me and a friend tried to get a chest that was looted by another guy so this method doesn't work"

Ok, the timeing needs to be done with like Teamspeek, or Vent, but it does actually work-so long as no one is a greedy jerk and loots early.

ok played around a little with this and figured it out. its not everyone click at once, while that works to a point, the system they use should onyl let 1 person OPEN the chest at a time. once the chest is open and loot box pops up, dont take it yet. as soon as your progress bar is finished, and your loot box is up, another person can open it, then you have 2 loot boxes up. then another person opens it...etc..

but if you have a greedy person as we found out that tales the loot before someone has opened it, everyone that doesnt have a loot window open, doesnt get the item. definitly could be useful in higher dungeons. right now were just ending up with like 5 strength potions and crap...
so thats a yay from me..

oh wait this is already in confirmed...oh well.
