9Dragons Guides - Heavenly Demon - Road to level 50 : 9Dragons Guides, Bots & Tools

Ok first post here ever, but having played this game I thought that I should make a comprehensive guide on how to get to a decent level, specifically with the Heavenly Demon (HD) clan. Do note that while the Gathering Chi (GC) levels are HD specific, you can use the guide from Opening Chi (OC) onwards to do whatever levelling you require, if you're from a Black Clan.

Now my experience is mainly with warriors and healers, but these locations suit all including nukers, who will have to run around a bit but hey it's healthy living.

Also, this is a solo guide, to get you through on your own, because you don't want to be hanging around waiting for someone to help you out. It's a waste of time. Oh and don't beg for money or items, it's pathetic. If you want buffs ask politely, because it takes ages to train them and if someone buffs you they're doing YOU a favour.

So starting off, you'll want to build your character to be most effective in close combat, and my preference is for a STR-heavy build. It really doesn't matter what points you set at the start since you're going to be able to reset them when you choose your role. Mastery points should all be assigned to the one weapon you're going to use, but again these can be reset when you choose your role.

With the four points you get each level, go for 2 STR 1 CON 1 Dex, then 3 STR 1 Con, then 3 STR 1 DEX, and then repeat. This'll make you level very quickly at the earlier stages.

Your build after you choose your role depends on, well, your role. My experience is mainly in Warriors and Healers, and I don't bother with PvP, so my suggested build would be:

WARRIOR
STR - Put all remaining points here
ESS - Don't bother unless you need it for a relic
WIS - Don't bother unless you need it for a relic
CON - 40-50hp/level
DEX - Your level +4
It doesn't matter if you use items to boost your stats, as long as they're around this level.

HEALER
STR - Put all remaining points here
ESS - 20-30/level
WIS - Don't bother
CON - 40-50/level
DEX - Your level +4
As a healer, you'll get buffs, so include those when considering what to raise in your stats

THE BEGINNING (LOSING SELF)
Now I always recommend starting in Wu Tang, since you get good items there, and the quests to get your kung fu are pretty easy. At this level, always go for orange monsters, as you'll be able to handle them easily. I won't mention any quests apart from those you need for qualification, because there are lots of guides out there and the quests are common sense really.

So start at Wu Tang and gain your xp by killing foxes. This will get you through the first 2-3 levels, and do whatever quests come up.

Next move on to the rascals further down the hill to the north. Again, go for orange until you can find no more, then proceed to train on wolves which will be slightly east of where you are. Be careful of blood wolves as they will be too tough for you at this point in time.

After wolves, go to the Dead Tree area and fight the thieves there. When they get too easy, move westwards till you find the vipers, and train on those. All this will bring you to the next stage, Gathering Chi.

GATHERING CHI
Ok so you've done your chi breathing, and gotten your Lightfoot (LF). A lot of people don't seem to understand how to use it when they first get it, so this is a short section to explain it:

LIGHTFOOT
Once you have this, put it into one of the slots in your skill bar at the bottom of the screen. To activate it, press the number that corresponds to the slot you've chosen, then HOLD on the LEFT ALT key to start running. Always keep an eye on your VE, 'cause you don't want to be running out of power in a dangerous place.

GATHERING CHI (cont.)
Ok so now you have mobility, you can go places. Now, if you press the L key, you bring up the collections page. This is for merchants who give you special items if you bring them specific items. At LS9 you'll have received one from Wan Daye, who is going to give you a nice item for just 3 tobacco, 3 pouches, and 3 big pouches. If you sold yours already, make sure you go back and get some more. So wave goodbye to Wu Tang and go to Hefei. Wan Daye is in the central marketplace, next to two white horses on the right side. Pick up an item (I recommend the shirt), and then make your way to the exit for black clans, and choose Mount Yanmo.

Now that you've arrived at your spiritual home, do the quests. The 3 gravestones in 3 minutes one would be tricky if you didn't have LF, but you do, so hah!

Train on Bloodaxe Giants at the Bloody Mound, then on to the Shi Zhang entrance area where you'll find Moonblade Kids and Iron-Clad Zombies.

Ok at GC8 you'll have the option to join the mighty HD clan, but it won't be easy. To get in you need 20 small cases and 5 gold cases. The small cases are pretty straightforward, you get them from the Twinblade Ladies around the Hefei entrance, but the gold cases are another matter, and they are a less common drop from the Steelclub madmen, who hang around behind the Ladies. Not so mad after all eh?

So what you should do is to, at GC6, begin your collecting of these items. By the time you reach GC8 or GC9, you'll have gotten your items together, and will be ready for the test. Well, sort of.

HEAVENLY DEMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
No, sharpened pencils will not help you here. What you need is the best equipment you can get, and a bit of luck. First, buy whatever weapon you can use at your level, then go to Hefei to upgrade it. It costs just 8k to get your weapon to +2, which gives you an additional 30-40 points of damage depending on what sort of weapon it is, and that is not to be sniffed at. This should be the last time you ever have to buy a weapon, since you'll get drops, unless you find yourself approaching 10 levels and still using the same weapon. The upgrade materials can be purchased from the General Merchant, and you get your weapon upgraded at the Master Refiner. Also, buy the highest rated food from the General Merchant, because the time limit for the HD test means you need to do it quickly. By now you should be prepared, so go enter the lava lake and SCOUT OUT THE AREA before you talk to the bull. The best place to do the test from is the bridge at the back of the area, because there's a little slope at the back at which you can rest safely. Now that you're familiar with the area, tell him you're ready to do the quest, then get started. ONLY KILL THE NORMAL BLOODHORNED CHIMERAS, as the wild and violent ones don't give horns. You'll be bleeding all the while, so once you're down to 25-30% health, run to the bridge, switch to peace mode, eat, and meditate.

Do note that if you find that you're unable to get horns, try logging out and then in again, it helps sometimes. Also, if you fail the test by running out of time, you don't need to die, just open your Quests page and click on 'give up', then try it again.

HD ROLE TEST
After passing the entrance test, go train on the Chimeras (revenge!) until you've got your xp maxed out at GC12. Around this point, there will be item quests in Shi Zhang, so go there and do them before coming back to do the role test. You will be asked to prove your worth to HD by getting the blood of the Knife of White Shadows. YOU DO NOT NEED TO KILL HIM! He is around mid-RC level, and will kill you easily. Run up, hit him a few times, if you don't get the blood by half health, run away and heal, then try it again. It's easy enough and you don't have to die while doing it. He can be found at either the Shi Zhang or Hefei exit.

OPENING CHI
So now you've passed, chosen your nice new role. Go to the Blood Magistrate at the Temple to make Clan Contributions, which allow you to purchase new skills, then off to the Training Ground to get your skills. You'll need to train some skills at the training ground before you can use them, so don't forget. Also, from Carnal in the middle of the training ground, you can purchase manuals that let you raise your skills more quickly until and including Cheng 5 in the skill. Just don't look at her funny. Anyway the manuals save you time, because you don't want to spend forever levelling your skills.

Your destination is Shi Zhang, because frankly the Yanmo monsters won't give you enough xp. From this level onwards, only go for white or yellow range monsters, because they've gotten tougher too. Train on Blood Wolves, then the Bandits down the road from Laogou Village, and then the Leopards around Mei Mountain. The Tarantulas at the Southwest Corner of the map are also good, since they won't mob you, and you'll be able to tell people where they are (you need to kill them for a quest later). Your targets will include the foxes around Mei Mountain, then the Small Bears just south of the Mei Mountain pass. The Bears to the west of the bridge to the landmass on the right will bring you to Revolving Chakra.

REVOLVING CHAKRA
Now, you'll finally be able to take on those Blind Madmen. Sure they're blind, and mad, but they can kick butt. Until now. If you haven't already realised, they transform into some crazy berserk mode after you hit them a few times, but by this level you'll have the tools to beat them. They're not particularly good for training on though, that honour is reserved for the Twin Brutes around the stairs leading to the Hall at the Forestof Confucius. Train there till the Armoured ones are green, then it's on to Giants at the hill east of the Hall of Bloody Ghost. Stay there and level a bit, then go to the Superior Giants south of the exit to Datong. Those will keep you occupied for a while, then go a bit further along the path to train on the Drunken Swordsmen. NOTE: if you find that your right mouse viewing is messed up, it's because they're using a skill on you, not because there's something wrong with your mouse. You can keep training on them, and then the Iron Flowers further down the path, until you reach Raising Light.

RAISING LIGHT
Now you're almost at level 50, move to Datong. The Lightning Shadows Disciples/Leaders west of Changqiu are good training, as are the Bloodthieves to the southeast. And that will get you to level 50, as promised.

Do post if there are any questions, or points that I can clear up. I've been a bit brief on certain areas, like builds, since discussions on that will take up more room than I've got here.

HD isnt a good clan to pick anyway, since there are way too many already (which i didnt know when i started), so everything is much much more expensive. same applies to wu tang.

also HD and WT clans dont have a clan buff which is a clear con

Well there are advantages to having more people in one clan. Like one for example is less people are likely to pk and you can find a good hero band. But the stuff is expensive and the clan buff is pretty handy. I give this post a definite yay, because the information is correct.

PS All HD on Asura I will hunt you down.
