I have been checking a while on the internet about how to make a macro and what i need it for, but havent really understood it.

can soemone give me a simple guide of how i make macros and what i use them for?

Sometimes, macros are usefull and this is one example for hunters. The macro below will take whatever item that is in slot #1 of your 4th bag (the one all the way left) and feed it to your pet!
- Feed pet -

I hope your not lazy :P because if you want to understand what macros are and how to make em, I advice you to read
www.wowwiki.com/Macros

it has a very clear explanation plus a set of examples of useful macros, Macros make things easier for you, like madjammu said, it can save you alot of time and trouble, no need to actually know programming to make em, if you read a couple of examples you should get the hang of it :)
