Strangely enough, it looks like you will only be able to play Klingon or Humans in this game. Since Klingons will likely have stealth technology, it makes more sense to have this type of ship, rather then being a Human. If the game plays like the TV series, then the Humans will not have and over bearing strength to their ships.

I wonder if you will be able to play other classes, rather then just being a captain of a war ship.

O thats lame. Only 2 races i thought it was going to have a ton of diff species to play with. Sounds like its based on getting the game out early.

I might be confused on that of course, but thats what i read... but I didn't read too much into it. Some people were mentioning the races they would like to play, and there were mentions of other races, but nothing to confirm that they would be there in the game.

The plan is Human, Vulcan, Andorian, Klingon, Orion, Gorn, and several others. You will also be able to create your own race with its own custom look and attributes.

Travel times will be semi-realistic, with a focus on fun. Space is big, and it can take a very long time to travel great distances. That travel time can be impractically long. We will introduce transwarp conduit technology and worm holes to allow players to travel to distant sectors of the galaxy without needing days or weeks of gameplay to do so.

not sure if any1 is reading this even this is what ive read so far, you can create your own races in the character creation menu. its similar to the champions creation menu. there is 4 i think slots for race bonus or special abilities(this might not be right cant member where i read it).

There are a few races you can make your character, at least 5 or 6 from what I have seen in the character creation although it isn't clear @ first but after looking @ the options you have some flexibility but REMEMBER this is still in closed Beta so changes are still to come over the next month or so.

klingons in STO in just like monster play in LOTRO you will need to reach a certain level with a federation character in order to unlock a Klingon character slot as just as with the monster play the klingon game play will be heavily situated around PvP. As it stands in the beta there other news from cryptic there are only to playable factions Klingons and the Federation, the federation has a whole slew of playble races available to it as well as a option to engineer your own race to serve the federation but I have yet to hear much on the klingon's side of the spectrum as my beta charater has barely made it out of the spacedock so to speak so I can't speak for klingons yet as I have yet to unlock them.

Side note: alternativly when making a federation character by selecting "unknown" for a race you can create a klingon like race and RP as on but you would of course still be restricted to federation ships. But there is a ground combat system that could possibly favor a character roleplaying as a klingon.

sadly the ground combat system seriously needs work atm is worse off then SWG's NGE engine aside from tab targeting you have to click on a most often moving target that can dodge/roll making quick movements. with no option for manual aim either (that I've seen anyways)

well theres my two cents on the game so far.

Cheers,

They now offer Fed Klingon or Fed Ferengi in the C-store which I think is a joke, but yeah you can buy either of both to use.
