When you first begin the game, and have control of your ship, you can equip torpedoes to be aft launched as well, long as you have the extra equipment. You can even have all torpedoes, or extra phasers, if you prefer.

Also, easy way to get XP and not have to do much...Enter a quest or what I found, the borg attacks, and find some other players to join you. Even if you have a less powerful ship, you can feed off the XP and Items they harvest from easily dispatching the enemies.

I've been looking for a way to get in and hack the currencies in this game. I typically don't play these types of games because, although free to play, you have to pay for all the good things.
