This is a great way to move around your soul specs easily. It basically just requires you to leave your 3rd soul with zero talents points.
Basically if you leave your 3rd soul with 0 talent points, you can switch it around at any given time. So need a pet? Switch your 3rd one for ranger. Need shadow shift? Switch it to riftstalker.

You can keep changing it, without resetting your spec.

I think this is intended and not a cheat/trick. However you can not take the buffs from each spec on and then switch. They will dissapear.
