Fab: I am a programmer by trade. Its my job. I understand the difficulties of color interpretation. When a color is displayed it is broken down into Red Green and Blue. It makes working with colors a bit more tricky. On TOP of that you have to deal with camera angle problems. Colors have too many problems.
Ive worked with XUnleashed, anything is possible. Is it easier? No.
In the end reading the values from memory is easier. It tells you what kind of monster it is. It tells you how many HP it has. If its being attacked. LOTS of stuff.
You can then use the direct commands to the server to attack a specific monster based on memory.
In the end NONE of it is truely "easy" but it's "easier".
I wouldn't worry about it. I would focus on developing applications that most bots don't include. For instance, the breakdown of alchemy items. Setting up stalls and auto logging in is another thing that would be relatively easy compared to a hunting bot.
