Changing Character Name? : SWG Premium Discussions

Apparently GMs are restoring deleted characters?

If I wanted to change the name of my char, I'm wondering if I could delete my char, make the same name on a trial account, and then when the restore went through I'd get to pick a new name.

Has anybody tried this?

Also, on the restores, are items/credits/xp restored or just the name/race?

You can't use the name.

Everything is restored from the original character that was deleted, And intresting thought. You may want to try it.

Even if you delete the character I believe that the name stays reserved for a while. I legitimately deleted a crafter of mine before they put the respec NPC's in, I was gonna create a new toon, tried to choose same name as he was before, didn't work.

Most of the time a deleted toons name stays in the database from 3 to 6 months so I don't think this will work.

if changing a name is the only goal then u can simply send a ticket to ask to change the name. its a one time offer theyll do

yeah they will change toon names for u as a one time offer only bear in mind. have to swg character or something in the subcategory

If I search for name at all under SWG database, the only thing I come up with is name changes aren't offered.. hmm. Any more info?

I do not think they will change the first name, but they will give you a one time deal when it comes to changing your surname/family name. I know quite a few who have done it.

They will change any character names, I just asked recently and got one of my characters name changed. They say its only a one time deal though.

sent a ticket and select in sub category player to ask if they will change the first they then ask for a list of specific names. i dont see how this is difficult for some to not know about

Randomly generated names go back into the pool, and are available after 10 days. Custom names stay unavailable 3 - 6 months.

You will have same name as before... changing name works however with transfering to other server and transfering back to original server in less then 7 days. (because after 7 days info gets deleted from data base server) I renamed two of my toons already just by using CSR ticket. I gave them funny reason why I wanna change my name and they did it...

i did it about a month ago and said it was a one time deal that they will do it, and they are only doing it because my account is in good standing (no warnings / bans etc)
