Could There Be Any Truth To This??.. : SWG Premium Discussions

This was posted on the SWG boards today.. Not sure if whats being used is the PA hall transfer exploit..


It has come to our attention that certain people are utilizing an exploit to literally "Steal" items from other players in the game right now. Those who do this know who they are and I suspect are quite proud of their recent accomplishments. In any event to try to minimize your vulnerability please follow some simple steps till the Devs take appropriate action to correct the flaw in the game that is permitting these methods. I will not specify how it is being accomplished, as to educate more players who would utilize this exploit as an advantage need not be contributed to. The Dev's do know how this is being accomplished and they are able to track offending parties through the game logs. Basically continued use of this method will eventually result in a loss of your account not to mention the respect of your fellow players in this mmo, although its obvious that those who use this could care less about the consequences of their actions..

1. If you store items in a container do not put the container near outer walls of a structure, basements may be ok but not sure
2. Put your most prized posessions on a vender stockroom or in your bank
3. -Or- Store your items within a structure without using containers

The Devs are aware of the exploit and at this time are issuing warnings to those who are caught. Its sad that they are not flately banning people immediately for committing such deliberate actions but as more and more people become aware of this method it is become very apparent that a fix is necessary as the workload of individually addressing every ticket submitted is quickly becoming a burdon.

we need to get more ppl trying to figure this one out and how to do and possibley stop it.i have tried a few simple things that did not work but lets get to trying everything we vcan think of

Poster sounds like having it next to the walls is the problem, like maybe people are sitting houses next to the one they are gonna jack, and target certain objects and using some commands?

That would mean its for houses that are outside cities. Could it be to do with camps..

Ahh might be on to something with the camps, since those are a little more complex then houses right now

Wasn't there a post a long time ago about someone who figured out if you made a vulgar named character, and a CSR went to change your name, and you told him a name that already exist, sometimes they would make the same name...Now if you got the name changed to a owner of a certain structure, would that not allow you to grab items from it? Just a guess, only thing I can think of right now...

So far here is was i heard:

Best to do it if with the Mustafarian Bunker.

I tried several thing without getting it to work. Here is what i tried so far:

- The wall exploit in a outside corner of the bunker, no luck.
- Sitting around and tried to mess with the camera-look, no luck.
- Using the wall exploit in front of the door, trying to get a hole, no luck.

What i do know so far his that when i am targeting something, and then use the /pickup command, i get a message saying that i can't pick up the item because i cannot see it.

If we find a way to trick that part, i think it may work. If the system think that you can actually see the item, perhaps you could pick it up and since your outside of the house, the access security (admin privilege) would maybe not taked in consideration but i may be wrong.

Something i didnt tried yet is the /unstick command. This could also be hole to make it work maybe.

Well it also apparently only works if your house is public. Which means that you have to get in at some point, whether simply to have items load into view, or because its done from inside.

Another thing I heard was that anything that is NOT in packs isnt safe. Or anything in packs on the outside walls isnt safe.

Also that there is something to do with admin and vendors. Though im not sure about that one. This could possibly be merely the public/private function not being able to be switched due to vendors.

Do you mean the trick about being a guild leader, bring people in your guild with a mustafar bunker or PA hall and when they leave for like 30 days (stopping to pay the monthly fee) you go to ther bunker of PA Hall and use the Transfert PA lots option or something like that? Someone said you could stole it that way but i never tried it.

I wonder if it's linked to the invisible exploit as when doing normal things You get the 'Unknown error during CONTAINER Transfer' , I don't know tho , Just A FYI.
