Introduction: This guide is composed of two
main parts: A Macroing Guide and A Crafter's Guide. In the Macroing guide, I
will show you how to setup and use a crafting macro that I created with
AutoIt. I have already used this macro to master several crafting skills in
a minimal amount of time while AFK. Second, I will state the most efficient ways
of mastering any crafting skill by telling you what to create and how many
resources will be required.

Macroing Guide

Step 1: Getting Autoit and the Macro Scripts

General Information: Autoit is a 3rd party macroing program that can send
mouse clicks and key presses to other windows. It is against the EULA to use 3rd
party macroing programs. So be warned and macro smart. Mark yourself AFK, and
craft somewhere private.

1. Download and Install Autoit:

2.
Download the following scripts:

C:\Macros.

Step 2:
Configuring Your SWG Client

1. Run
the SWG launcher. When you get to the screen with the Play button, select
the Options button. Select the Graphics tab and make sure the
options for Windowed Mode and Borderless Window are checked.

2. Open up
the folder that contains the scripts you downloaded. Now go ahead and login to
SWG. Once inside the game, hit Alt+Tab. What you want to happen, is the
SWG client to shrink, thus allowing you to select the folder with your scripts
in it. What if my SWG client doesnt shrink? You may need to make sure
your game resolution is less than your windows resolution. For example, if
Windows runs at 1280x1024 you may need to make sure the game runs in 1024x768.
You can check your Windows resolution by right clicking on your desktop,
selecting Properties and then selecting the Settings tab. You can
check and change your SWG resolution by going back to the options menu at the
screen with the Play button.

Step 3: Preparing your Player

1.
First, you will need four crafting tools. Place the crafting tools in hotkeys:
F5, F6, F7, and F8. (If your toolbar is full, you can change to a diffent
toolbar by pressing ctrl + 1-6.

2. Now press ctrl+a to
bring up your abilities menu. Select the macro tab. Select New Macro
name it PracticeItem and enter the following:

Quote:
/nextCraftingStage;
/nextCraftingStage;
/createPrototype
practice noItem;
/createPrototype practice noItem;

Alternatively, if you want to create the item instead of practicing, you can use
the following macro.

Quote:

/nextCraftingStage;
/nextCraftingStage;
/createPrototype;

/createPrototype;

3. Now
drag this new macro to your hotkey slot F9

Step 4: Using AutoIt Reveal Mode to Locate Your Resources

1. Now we need to get the location of your crafting resources for Autoit. Open a
crafting tool and select an item to craft. You should now be at the resource
screen and there should be four resource spots in the upper left window.

2. Press Alt+Tab and go into your start menu (Alternatively you can press
the start menu button or ctrl+esc). Go to AutoIt > AutoIt
Reveal Mode. Click back on the SWG Client. The Reveal mode program should
still be visible and you should be able to see a changing x and y value as you
move your mouse. Move your mouse over each of the four locations for resources
and record the x and y values for each one.

4. Open up the folder that
contains the scripts and double click craft.ini. Enter the resource
coordinates after the associated variable.

Step 5: Running the macro

Note:
All the stuff you just completed should not have to be done again. The next few
steps you will have to do each time before running the macro.

1. Open
your crafting tool and select the item you want to macro. See how many resources
it takes and what locations the resources are in. You need to do this before
starting the macro, because it will set the item to be made the next time you
open a crafting tool.

2. Open craft.ini and enter the number of
resources after numResources, and the order you want the resources to be
selected in after order[1-4]. Save and close.

3. Double click
crafting.exe and watch it work.

4. You may have to adjust the timers
in craft.ini to work with your computer and connection.

5. To quit
the macro, simply press Alt+Tab

Conclusion: Well, I hope you enjoyed my
guide and that everything worked for you. AutoIt doesn't appear to work for
everybody or every operating system so please don't be quick to blame me for a
bad guide. I use Windows XP Professional and have Mastered Tailoring,
Bio-Engineer, and Artisan using the above methods. If any of the information
above is wrong, or if you have information to add, please reply and I will edit.
I do not claim to know everything about all professions, just what I have read
on forums.
