exploiting rancor cave
OK this is mostly for fun sense I havent got anythign out of it except some meat from harvesting. Maybe someone else can use it to some other advantage.
First, Expect to die.
Here is what happened.
I decided to log off after an hour or so of hunting for some new pets on Dath. I was near the Rancor cave so I thought I would make a suicide run into the cave and die to get back to my clone point.
The Ancient bull was off chaseing something so he was not a problem. I ran straight into the cave on burst run seeing how deep I cold go before punded into oblivian. Well rancors are a bit slow on the uptake so I was running right past them takeing a hit here and there and getting one vary nice rancor train going.
I made all the way to the bottom of the cave and was incapped. The rancors were to busy fighting each other to Deathblow me. At first I found this anoying becuse thats what I wanted. When I got up I walked a away from the mass of about 25 rancors and begain fireing at the one with the most damage. When it died, i looted/harvested and whent to the next rancor...then the next....then the next....exc exc.. I was even able to get respawns involved in the fight to make it basicaly an endless rancor free for all brawl.
While this was going on I discovered the discarded junk or whatever they are. they seem to be lootable containers in several spots. They contained junk but would not let me take anything inside them claiming i had no access. Anyone know what you need to do to be able to loot this junk?
Anyway I finally got bored and found a lonely rancor not yet in the brawl to put me out of my misery.
Sense that time I have done it twivce more. I died both of those times not by choice but by getting to close to the brawl.
None of the rancors I looted dropped any actual loot and I thought they were supposed to.
Anyway, do with it what you will. If nothign elses it's kind of fun.
med xp by using first aid
Like your pet but hate watching its vitality roll away from all the wound damage? Instead get a pet and a friend.. Have your friend do bleed shots on the pet..not to cause wounds now..just to bleed..What you do then if you have the ability First Aid is to just heal the bleed on the pet..This is a guaranteed 100 exp each time and requires no resources..Works well and still gets you to the skills you need with reasonable time..
Advertising
So, you want more people to come to your shop eh?? Your PA hall isn't getting the incoming traffic you wanted?? Your slicing biz drying up??
You need to start advertising!!!
Basic Advertising Techniques:
1. Politely spam people with /shout messages while in the center of busy cities (Theed, Coronet, Anchorhead)
a. Create a macro for this so you can make your announcements whenever you need to. Be sure to use some color in your macro to make it stand out. There is a tutorial on how to do colors stickyed here allready.
2. Create items such as fishing rods, dice, generic crafters, weapon repair tools etc. and name them "My Shop! S.Coronet 5000x5000" Put these up on the bazaar as premium auctions (not instant sales). Be sure to describe your shop in the item description so people know why they would want to visit. You could also advertise a PA this way, but I've never seen anyone trying that.
Advanced Advertising:
1. Get a pet, or hire a CH. Make sure these pets know how to patrol. Name the pet "ShopAtMyPlace!" or something like that. Setup patrol points around a busy starport, and then just let your pet walk around displaying your message. You can also use droids for this.
Effective AFK Billboards:
1. The latest technique I have come up with is a real winner! Again you need a pet or a droid. Name them something clever. Place them somewhere between town and your house/shop/PA. The key is to be on one of the main travel routes towards a populated area (player neighborhood). Again, setup patrol points in a line from town to your building. Im not sure what the distance limit is, but you can only have 5 patrol points. Try and get a patrol of about 300m going. You should be about 500m outside of town and 500m from your building. Right in the middle of it...
Now, group your pet, select your pet and type /follow and then tell your pet/droid to patrol. Now you will walk behind your pet.
So, setup an AFK Advertising spam macro. Essentially, this macro is going to look like this:
/shout '#ff0000 Blah Blah Blah
/pause 80
/ui action toolbarSlot00
If you don't know what any of that is, then read the macro tutorials.
Now, set your character up as AFK, and make a creative AFK message like "Im busy negotiating with Hutt smugglers. Please send an e-mail. Visit my shop at xxx,xxx"
....
OK, so the smart ones out there are thinking, "Hey, I can have a droid in town and a pet outside of town!" ..... And you would be right!
Here's where you can get real creative... One idea I had, but haven't used yet is:
Do the AFK "Walking Billboard" macro in town instead of outside. This time, make your /shout spam something like "Look for the white rabbit south of town! Follow the it to find the secret spice shop!"
To leave this going all day while you are away will require some sort of 3rd party macro program like Auto-It or Macro Express.
Now, setup a patrol with your other pet walking from the front door of your shop, to 300-400m away. Name that pet "White Rabbit".
Combine with a well decorated shop and a cool theme, and you've just made an extremely basic "Player Quest"

Using holocron and not having it disappear
I tested this today and so did a friend and we both kept it.
If you want to find out which profession you need to master just use it just before servers go down for daily reboot, I did this 1/2 minutes before they went down to find out I had to to Image designer, when servers went back up I still had the holocron because of the rollback (I think it's usually about 5 minutes or so, don't know for sure.
Not really a great tip but I just thought I'd post it anyway
3000 rebel fp per hour (give or take)
BREAKDOWN:
I will warn you first. This is EXTREEMLY boaring. But for those of you who want faction fast, here you go.
I never walk anywhere. I only click twice per mission. Walla.. I get 3000+ rebel faction per hour.
PROCESS:
Go to Anchorhead, Tatooine.
Stand in front of rebel mission terminals.
Do DELIVERY missions from the rebel terminal.
Take only delivery missions that are worth less than 100 credits.
Use this macro:
/ui action targetAtCursor;
/conv;
/ui action targetAtCursorStop;
/ui action toolbarSlot11;
Put this macro in slot F12;
This macro allows you to: move your mouse over the npc at the waypoint and without clicking talk to the npc from any distance.
Just stand in one spot and rotate the camera around looking for the waypoint.
TIPS:
Under Graphics options trun "Field of View" to maximum.
Zoom out as much as you can to see as much as you can.
TURN OFF INTERFACE SOUNDS IN YOUR OPTIONS(Macro call thrice a second drives you NUTS)
Move all windows to bottom of screen to give you maximum viewing area.
Move waypoint monitor into the middle of the screen.
Turn any graphics options to their lowest setting(for smooth camera pan)
Grab a pillow for your bottom.
