Vista and Macro programs : SWG Premium Discussions

ok, I've tried a couple programs that do macro'ing, even ones that required me to text-write the macro's using co-ordinates and such instead of recording them. autoit, AutoMacroRecorder, and Macro XP3. None of these seem to work in SWG even in a window instead of full screen. I set the active window to Star Wars Galaxies, then give the desired inputs, and it will switch windows, but after that, nothing at all. The recording programs start recording, but say there was no input the whole time I was crafting and just have minutes of blank.
Anyone else running Vista? Anyone have workarounds? Thoughts? Or should I just use the XP laptop for the crafting macro's? (it's video sucks too bad to play the game well, but I think just sitting there clicking it should be fine)

Vista is horrible... I really doubt you could get anything to work for that thing. Why not stick with pirated versions of XP? :]

Just make sure to run the macro programs in admin mode. Had a problem with Jitbit macro recorder not recording my mouse movements on Vista, ran it in admin and works fine now.

(Sorry for necro)

I use AutoIT on Vista. Works flawlessly. As long as you have the horsepower for it, vista is a great OS. It took me a while to get it tweaked just right. I still use XP on my desktops, but my laptop with a dual core 64bit processor and 2 gigs of ram is just as smooth if not smoother then my desktops.

Just go to Start > Programs > Auto Itv3 > Run Macro. Right click that shortcut and edit the properties so that it always executes that program as an admin. That is the main thing you will need to do to get AutoIt to work correctly under Vista. If you don't do that it won't do much of anything. It can't send keys or mouse inputs.
