Yes that is right. I found out by accident. Not sure if it is out there I have never heard it. Sorry if it was already posted before.
So you failed your Umakk and Quillara collection quests and dont want to wait the 20 or 30 minutes. Just go to a Profession consel and respec too Officer and that respec clears all buffs and debuffs. I did not check but i wonder if it resets your lockout timer on instances also.

I could see how this would work, but it is not viable in my opinion. I'm unsure as to whether this should be a "yay" because it would likely work, or if it should be a nay because it is not worthwhile.

I'll think on it, and edit this later.

Respecs are rather "precious" i don't see why anyone would want to waste for a de-buff thats take 30 minutes, so YAY on the fact it does work but a NAY on the fact it's not a good idea.

Nay. You haven't even checked this and I don't think anyone has. It is a complete waste to respec for something as stupid as this. Big NAY until you can prove it. Even then I don't think I would change my vote because it's not much of an exploit if it costs you more than it's worth.

Its easy for the closed minded to call something stupid. Sorry you feel that way I wont bother too share any thing else here. It works and yes it is not really worth the cost too some maybe not. I needed more heal stims yesterday, I could not find an officer for nothing. My stims I had poofed during my attack on Umakk. So I respec'd too Officer and got me some stims soon as I became officer All my debuffs and buffs where gone. Clean slate if you will. I wish I had thought of checking the instance lock out timer too. I did not check that. Today Same thing When I needed stims I went back to Umakk to test it, I knew I would respec to get stims again and it worked. So dont say I did not check this when I did or I would not have posted it. Yah or nay that is your choice I can handle that before you call some one stupid take a long look in a mirror.

you can actually do this by just resetting ya expertise, did it by mistake last night after going from dark to light to do the statue, as i just failed it, wondered if it was actually reset and got the statue again within 5 mins of me failure before

The question I need answered before I consider testing this is the point of respec'ing. Is it to save time? If so, how much time are you really saving, transporting back to a profession counselor, taking the time to set up your expertise again, then transporting back to the quest?

If all you're going to save is five minutes off the thirty minute cool down, I'd say you're wasting time and money you could be using reviewing the combat log and getting tips from guildies and friends.
