Well you can, if all of you send him a duel challenge, if it is your BH it will say on your screen:

'You cannot duel this person because this person can already attack you'

This is 100% foolproof and tells you that it's your bounty, so unpack that house and run or just stuff yourself full of food and wait it out.

Nice to be able to be prepared and this is like an early warning.
