Come on guys please let's fix this I want to use XU again.
It has been over a month now and we seem no closer to a resolve.
I will be a testing ground if you need it. I have a feeling that most of this coms from windoze x64 systems and DirectX with XU??? mabe the emulaters that the 64 bit systems need a different hook or drivers... something ><
I say this because on my win32 (xp) system it works but my 64 does not.
So a mini advice is to the 64 bit OS peeps need a plugin patch for their input devices so that XU will emulate them correctly to FFXI (guessing that XU is doing the job but just for a 32 bit system not 64 so its not going to show up as a bug because win 64 systems emulate 32 bit software... all but drivers =) So in the words of FFXI 64bit input patch (can I have it) (reward) (/smile)
Hope this helps and again I am willing to be a test subject. here is my log by the way
Gabe

Look if you cant fix the problem or have no intention please just tell us to F off already so I can stop wasting my time checking for updates.

There has been no activity on the bug tracking system.
There has been no updates since this bug was created.

Can I downgrade my client to when it used to work before you "Fixed" the so called gpad problems that created all these problems.

All they staff members on this site do there best. No mather what happens they keep on trying.

But by members like you. They get slapped in they face.
And gives them the feeling all there hard work for nothing.

Maybe it takes long to fix this bug. Maybe they dont know what causes they bug. Maybe they dont care. because ther are gone release a hole new version of XU (would be cool :D :D :D)

So stop wanking or leave :S

Here ill explain how the bug tracking system works. Lets put it in there like a giant game. You know how games do patches every month or 2? Well thats how xunleashed works. We collect a large amount of bugs for diff games. Then go and attempt to fix all the bugs. Then run xunleashed to make sure its working correctly. Then release a new version.

I didnt not mean to seem unappriciative of this matter however there has been no update from any developer / admin of the site.
Many people have asked for just a status update and after a long period of time we were told to refer to the Bug that was created for this by myself. The has been no update to the ticked since they asked me if the gpad and game functioned as normal without XUnleashed.

Now some background I work for a very large dot com in the development side of things. I understand what it takes to investigate and fix the problem my concern is until an "Angry" post is made bashing the people involved noone responds.

All i am looking for is "Hey bro were working on it and hope to have a new release out in X but dont hold me to it".

I truly belive if an reply from an admin / developer came out and said this the topic would still be on page 1 let alone page 3 of people complaining that no response has been made and as far and a User can tell nothing is being done on this.

I also have to question how legitimate any reponse from anyone affiliated with XUnleashed is as some very minor things stand out to me as there is no professionalism in the code base.

1) a RC version aka Beta / Release Candidate should never be pushed to a live group of users outside of beta testers / qa.

2) The change log is a few versions behind.

3) There is no road map for Xunleashed on a generalistic level or a per game basis.

4) Most fixes come from users not the XUnleashed team.

Xunleashed are quick to reply to "Hey questions about the Affiliate program" which make them money but not "Hey I paid for this and it doesnt work".

Again as stated earlier in a post I expect this level of professionalism from a Open Souce community project not a Closed source pay to use application.

Thank you for the reply to my previous post and to re-iterate I didnt not mean any offense to anyone but I can only call it as I see it.

Here is what i did

1) Install Logitech rumple Pad 2 software which install all the necessary drivers.

2) Uninstall the "Logitech Gaming Software" from the "Add Remove Programs" which in turn leaves only the basic device drivers

3) Uncheck "Use Gamepad" in "PlayOnline Viewer" Options

4) Launch XU as you would normally use it with FFXI

I hope it works for everyone it works for me ^^

I just did it today ^^

If it doest I am terribly sorry ; ;

Does uninstalling the software allow the Controller to funtion as expected,
Rumble and all? If it does I would be very happy to try this. If not well im not really inclined to break what worked 100% fine before the last update.

Again I think the biggest part of the problem here is the last update broke what was working fine. How do I roll back the update that fixed gamepads and seemed to break more then it fixed. If there is no way to send me a file that I can manually rollback maybe you should rollback the update since I see lots of complaints and more growing everyday since the last update to XUnleashed.

SO I take it by the fact that the ticket was never updated since AUgust 2005 that my chances of getting this fixed is slim to none.

Please referr to the XU4.x Beta/Test client thread in the XUnleashed->Install/Help forum for details.

It has gamepad support for FFXI working.
