Programs to keep your computer fast : General & Trouble Shooting

Are there any specific programs anyone here uses to keep their computer running fast and well? I found System Cleaner and tried the free evaluation version and it seemed very well. I also have Windows Defender and AOL Safety and Security Center. Any reccomendations for any other programs I should be using? Only reccomend free programs, unless I can get that program for free by other means.

I'll only give points if I think the program helped after testing it.

Pretty cool, I used w/o symantec, should I be using both? It just shuts off a few non-essential things right?

well it shuts off stuff like file sharing, automatic updates, anything that will eat up any of your cpu or use your ram. lowers your settings on the comp so all will run faster. choose either or. if your using symantec and want it to shut off because its a resource hog it will completly kill the process. the way to get stuff up and running again is a restart. but yeah choose whichever you want. they both are the same apart from that one shuts down norton and one doesnt

This is all you need to do.

run first of all msconfig

Take off all start up items
Then right click my computer
Advance Tab
Performance Tab
Adjust for best performance.

Take off antivirus like norton and use a more basic one.

Any other slowness then do the following

Ram
Processor
Graphics card
HD
