Whats The Best Way Off Finding the rite offsets for a game. Im using Cheat Engine program and i want to find certain offsets for LOTRO. I have no clue of what address to put in to find what i need, is there an easier way. I know how to do easy stuff like change the score on windows pinball and all that but im not sure about MMOs.

How would i use Cheat Engine to my advantage please.

Thank you

The best way to find addresses is first search for them, change the value in game, and then filter your results for the new value. rinse and repeat until you only have a few values left.

now to get more in depth, sort of off topic of what you want to know:

Base adress + offset = Address your trying to read

Bassically all an offset does is tell the distance between the base address (where the program starts in memory) and where the address is located respectively to the base address. Heres some simple steps:

1. Find the adress your looking for (EX: HP) by searching and then filtering until you only have a few addresses left.
2. Find the base address of the program
3. subract the base address from the address (found in #1)

now you have an offset. Now, when you restart your computer, the base adress will change, but the offset will not. Now all you have to do is find the base address and plug it into the equation Base address + Offset = Address
