XU 4.3 memory leak? : General & Trouble Shooting

After running EQ2 for 7 hours I am down to like 10fps (when running XU) and in turn XU shuts off (just like 3.9 did) but does not ever pop back on (like a server outage in 3.9). I have to reboot to free up memory.

If I run EQ2 with no XU loaded I have no frame loss or memory problems over 10 hours of game play. I can recreate this everytime I let XU run for 5+ hours. This all started (that I noticed) Friday the 21st.

I have updated EQservice.

Any thoughts?

i am having a frame rate problem but mine is from the moment eq2 is launched while XU is running... XU runs for a few sec then quits..

loraik, are you using custom maps?

ie in the radar?

another user said he got a mem leak from maps he created? If that is the case, then I can look into it. I didnt look into it when it was only 1 person with the problem, but if you can confirm that is what is doing it?

Also, try deleting all your custom maps and running for 7 hours and see if the same thing persistts?

Now, if it is not map related, it could be script related. Ie if you have a script that doesnt not free memory after it creates it, that could also cause it.

The only thing I have running/installed or even in any of the XU directorys is Service & UB. There is zero background programs running other than the typ. XP stuff but like I said this all started the night of the 21st when I logged in. Up to that point I was running flawless. It also happens on one of my other machines but not my NASA supercomputer which is capable of running a small country.

Hmm.. not sure then.

Can you do two simple test though?

1. Run XU+service without running the script. And leave it running one nite and see if it lags.

2. Run XU without the service and see if it still lags.
