Recently Fixed Money Dupe - Discuss Workarounds : Vanguard Premium Discussions

Last week I discovered a money dupe while trying to make a quick buck at the vendor using ArtMoney. Unfortunately, it was fixed a day after I discovered it due to the latest patch. It is time consuming and needed a macro to really generate the cash. I was planning on macroing the process and laundering plats worth of items but the patch came in that very day. Fortunately I walked away with 5 gold during my tests.

I'm going to explain the process in hopes of someone discovering a similar process or work around to get the dupe working. This is a stackable item buyback money dupe. This dupe works by bugging items sold to a vendor so that the buyback costs zero. The items still look bugged after the patch but now they cost money to buy back.

Alright, let's get started.

1. Load up ArtMoney and Vanguard.

2. Head over to a vendor and buy max stack of ammo. I found ship building supplies to be the best with a sellback of around 5s. Be aware when using ammo, 25, 50 stacks count as 1 or 2 items.

3. Head over to ArtMoney and do a 4byte int search for the stack size. This will result in 30 to 50k results.

4. Go back into the game and change your 100 stack to 50 stack. This must be in increments of the purchased stack sizes (1, 2, 25, 50).

5. Use the filter option in ArtMoney and search for 50. This will result in much fewer results.

6. Go back into the game and change the stack size back to 100. and repeat step 5 until you get down to 2 results.

7. Once you have 2 results then move the results to the right table. One of those fields is the text value of the inventory box. You don't want that so simply move your stack to another slot. The value you want will remain constant.

8. Now you've got the offset for the item stack. Edit the value to 50. If you stack a stack of 20 items like ship building supplies then use 19. if you have a 2 stacks of ammo for 100 total, use 50.

9. Make sure a vendor is nearby and sell the modified stack to him. You will have 1 item left. If you had 20 items, you'll see 1 left. If you have 100 ammo, you'll see 50 left. This will result in the following client error:

Programmer error in VGClientInventory::HandleItemMoveToBuyback: bad handle

10. Go to the buy back and you will notice that you modified sold stack sells back for 0 copper. This was the original dupe before it was fixed. If you attempt to buy it back now you will be charged even though it says zero.

That was the process which duped money successfully as of last week. I'm sure there are others.

With the help of you guys, maybe we can figure a work around using a similar principal. Let's get discussing ;)

Well I looked into it, seems they made almost everything server side instead of client side. That would really put a damper on this.
