The splash screen and login screen appear. Type in username herbi369 and password. Password screen disappears and then the splash screen disappears.
1) are you using regular xp or x64 edition? Regular XP.
2) did you also download the updated AdvancedCraftingBot.zip and overwrite the one packaged with vgextremeservice?
Yes.
3) what are the details of the crash message?
No crash message at all.
Thanks for the quick reply

x2 , exactly the same thing.

rommel62 wrote:Beergeek, apparently something is meesed up with tailoring, specifically with vielthread bags. I tried making a few yesterday, and it would not even come close to completion. This was never the case prior. From what I can tell, it seems to be using an inefficient choice during the "pattern" step.

I tried making items on my leatherworker, and all seemed well there. Just my tailor has problems.

Thanks
sounds like an offset problem. set debug level to 9, run the bot through a bag pass, zip and pm me the log

rommel62: the log file appears to be cut short or stopped before the first recipe completion. see my pm.

cyberfly: i sent a bot version to herbi369 with some debugging stuff in it, but haven't heard back. I'll send to you for testing

The bot is just crashing for me also after the log in screen and if I try just opening the VGExtremeService i get an error stating

A startup error has occured
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {ADA15C9D-60F3-41A5-8BCC-4D57CB24F451} failed due to the following error: 80040154

sounds like the error you get when trying to run on a 64 bit os. Are you running x64?

Well, problem solved, and it had nothing to do with bot. My attribute points were reset last patch, and this was the cause of the problem. Sorry about bringing up a non issue.

Ok i fixed my problem it seemed that all I had to do was download the updateVGExtreme file delete everything else run the update prgram and run VGextreme that the updater downloaded by itself. Then close the VGExtreme that the updater downloaded and run the ACB2.0 program and everything worked fine. Also put the updater in a folder by itself before you run it, not in the same folder as the Crafting bot 2.0. The uploader will download a different VGExtreme then what comes with the Bot download, but you do not want to replace any files. Hope this helps some people out.

I ran the file at lunch today and it crashes at the same point. It did seem like it took longer for it to crash but not more than a second or two.

let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

Any time that I try to run the program I get a windows error.
"AdvancedCraftingBot has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I am running XP with 4Gb of RAM. I have made an exception in my firewall for VGACB. I still get the error. HELP!

4GB ram? Are you running XP x64 edition? (32-bit xp won't recognize more than 3GB ram) If so, the bot won't work. My program is compiled to work with either, but the service will not.

beergeek wrote: VGExtreme does need Vanguard not only installed, but logged in to at least character select to work. This check is done by VGE itself and is required so it can initialize offset addresses properly. Normally, though, launching VGExtreme itself (not the bot, just the service), version 1.0 on the forums or version 2.0 included with my bot package, without VG running should give a message box that says "Vanguard was not found. Please restart when it is running."

I'm pretty sure the check for Vanguard is one of the first activities VGE does during initialization (before any attempt to contact the authentication server), so if it's not even getting to that point, there may be something missing, like the MS Script Debugger. Try running Exhume.exe and see if it loads. If it doesn't, find the troubleshooting threads for Exhume elsewhere in the TU forums and follow the instructions. It is also possible your network configuration may prevent proper authentication.

If Exhume loads and authenticates fine (we're talking only about 1.0 here), then close it and delete all files in your exhume directory except exhume.exe and updatevgextreme.exe (you can keep the vbs files or other files that are obviously not part of the program...any .dll, .tgb and vgextreme.exe get deleted). Run updatevgextreme.exe and allow it to patch all files.

Now try running vgextreme.exe (make sure Vanguard is running). If it opens and authenticates fine, run the default script that loads. It should create a window with some character stats and nearby object data that changes as you turn or move. If this works, then the service is working fine. From here, ACB1.1 could be loaded and run, although the offset files are out of date.

Assuming you got to this point, extract the acb2.0 bot package in a directory OTHER THAN YOUR VGEXTREME 1.0 DIRECTORY. Also download the new exe update I posted today and extract it into the same directory, overwriting the old file. Start Vanguard then run AdvancedCraftingBot.exe If you reached this point successfully, it should work.
OK I have been away from botting for a while and so Im a little rusty, I have been having a crash each time I run from the splash, it authenticates and then the program stops working with the usual windows error message of AdvancedCraftingBot has stopped responding blah blah blah. First of all I thought it was just me being rusty so I searched the forums and saw the reply (quoted above).

Im running vista 32 on my laptop so it already has the .net platform, I added the debugger and did the steps as listed, but still the same issue. Am I missing something obvious or is there something that stopping it from running?

I have tried to run the 1.1 version and it loads np, but as soon as I try to run the 2.0 it just keeps crashing on me after authentication. When I try the VGextreme from the file in your 2.0 download it cannot find VG even though I have an instance of it up.

Just so there is no confusion I have VGextreme in one folder and then your 2.0 in another one called VGextreme2, with the updated .exe installed.

I remember being a user of the 1.1 and passing on feedback but after seeing 2.0 upon my return to VG I was blown away, just a shame Im not getting it to load up. From what I have seen though great work on the finished product.

valmir,

If all you've reached is the splash screen, you can't have seen much besides some rudimentary photoshop skills ;-)

Since I've never tried running this on Vista, I can't tell you if it has anything to do with your problem. I do know it won't run on 64 bit platforms (limitation of the vgextremeservice), but that's not the case here. (REQ: if someone is running this successfully on vista32, please post)

Make sure advancedcraftingbot.exe is in the same directory with vgextremeservice.exe, and you should also have the following dlls along with these files:

exhumehelper.dll
hvmruntm.dll
interop.exhumelib.dll
interop.vba.dll
interop.vgehelper.dll
vgchatdump.dll
vgehelper.dll

There should also be the VGExtreme.vbs script in this directory, too. It's not needed for the bot, but you can launch VGExtremeService.exe directly, load this script (if it doesn't already) and run it to see if the service is working at all.

If that works but the bot still crashes, see if there are any files in the Log subdirectory and PM me the most recent

I have spent about 10hrs with it now trying as many different things as I could, I even used the how to run VGExtreme on vista thread even though it seemed to die off saying that there is still no vista fix.

If I open a new folder and run nothing but the updater file in there I get a version of VGExtreme to download that works without a problem, it even runs the test script, but if I then download your ACB 2.0 folder and put it in another location to the VGExtreme I just downloaded I get the same issues.

To walk you through what happens (refering to the downloads from you), I click the VGExtreme and it says something about VG not running so I do the suggested fix of running it in compatabilty mode with admin access. This fixes the issue and it see's that VG is running so it spawns the log in splash, if I enter my details there I get a pop up saying "ACB has stopped working, windows will now search online for a fix". Knowing that I cannot access it from that point I know I will have a problem when I double click on ACB, but still I try and I get the splash screen, log in and it authenticates, right after that I get the same error pop up.

I have tried to run ACB in compatabilty mode etc but nothing seems to change the fact that each time I use the VGExtreme provided in your folder it crashes, I even clutched at straws and deleted the files, copied over the exact same files I deleted from the download via the updater hoping that would maybe fix the issue and all I get then is: "Unable to run assembly: VGExtremeService.exe the type initializer for <module> threw and exception".

In my attempt to try all possible ideas I could come up with I have even downloaded .net 3.5 with the service pack but then I always get the unable to run assembly error, so had to revert back to 2.0 which I thought was strange. I have a debugger that I got from the microsoft website.

I know its not sloppy coding because in the past your code has been exceptional so I think maybe its something to do with vista maybe or perhaps Im missing something so silly I cannot see it. Unfortunatly I know you dont have vista but Im hoping that maybe one of the other users do and can suggest a fix. Regarding my earlier comment about it looking good, I was refering to the front page of this thread and the updates that you have done in the past 8 months that I was away.

Oh and before anyone asks, its vista home premium 32 I have not the 64 version. Its times like this I wish you could still have the option of xp installed rather than vista when you get a machine from the store and Im too tight to go buy a copy of xp just for this :D
