Here is a little list of information for those who seem to have problems makeing money at lower levels ( below 20 )..

ALCHEMY!
Make:
the armor potions ( +50 armor ones,stack 5) = 30-40silver
+27 health potions (stack 5) = 30-40silver
strength potions ( the first version of it you get, stack 5 ) = 30-50silver
Heal Health potions... ( the 70-90 ones stack of 10 ) = 20-30silver

requires about 80-90 alchemy I think? ( someone feel like checking? currently out of game right now so I can post.. )

HERBALISM

Silver Leaf stack of 20 = 30-40 silver
Peacebloom stack of 20 = 30-50 silver
Earth Root stack of 20 = 30-40 silver

The above prices is what I sold them for over a 24 hour period.. in auction house on various servers. ( 24 hour period is what I set the option as withen the auction house menu panel )

by lvl 13 on a server.. I had already made about 5 gold or so. ( good money yeah.. especially when you almost never run out.. lol ) - easy to create money through alchemy/herbalism, just find herbs/make/sell when your low on cash..

guys feel free to add information about the other tradeskill(s), to each post to his own findings. ( I have only made good money with alchemy/herbalism and its easy to make it since herbs are easily found )

The gold is good.

But

What about the ability to purchase base level components, create your items and sell back to the vendor?

I understand that you can purchase your items from the auction house. Is there anything that can be purchased for a quick profit or an even price to grind the levels?

I am currently looking into different types of professions to do this with.

Mining appears to be the easiest to level with the least amount of effort. Then you can use the bars to get that smithy up.

Any input will be appreciated.

I pretty much think that tradeskills are a waste until you hit lvl 40, unless you are skinning what you kill for leather.

If you're going to do:
-Mining & Blacksmithing/Engineering
-Hearbalism & Potion Making

If you wait until lvl 40:
-You've saved a whole lot of time
-You've avoided a sinkhole moneypit
-You probably have enough saved to buy a mount
-With the mount and your faster run speed, you can run around really quick in the lowbie zones gather like a madman.
-You avoid paying for those extra low level recipes that you wouldn't be using at lvl 40 or above anyway.
-The people you sell to at lvl 40 have a lot more cash to spend than lvl 10 (or so) toons

I'll bet at lvl 40 in 3 hours you could do the same gathering work of someone that's been gathering from lvl 1 to lvl 40.

Ignorant peice of !@#$%^*. It's a pain in the !@#$%^* to run around at lvl 40 getting herb up. Why not do it while you're running around questing at low levels? By level 8 you can have 75 herb

Speaking from personal experience it is better, in my opinion at least, to continually train as you progress through levels. But this game is all about doing what you want, so do what you want.

actually if ur a druid and herb alch ... wait till 30 when u get travel form. then run around teldrisal with good spd and no worries about aggro. then u can start your alch when u have tons of herbs and u can just stand next to the merchant. worked good for me until it caught up to my lvl and i had to worry about aggro. on another note if u do go herb/alch i would say do fishing too cause oily blackmouth is easy to get fishing, it skyrockets your alch skill when u get that far and blackmouth (at least on my server) sells in AH for 1-3g per 20 stack and some people even buy it out everyonce in a while for 5g. usually im the only one with it selling it goes so fast.

Leather working seems to have a loophole. Go to ah and buyout all thick leather, with 60s and lower buyouts (stacks of them of course) also bidding can be cheaper but who is to say u wont be out bid... after u get a few stacks go make nightscape headbands 2 for a stack of ten and 60+20= 80 they sell for 88 something over time and depending on the deals u get this can make some money very painlessly! I found this out the other night! ive made 6 easy gold so far!
