I wouldn't be surprised if SE did sell gil, then banned the accounts they sold it to. LOL

How do you think they keep their banned numbers up? And in response to the post before this one, the best way to make money is to eliminate the competition, so if they have a special task force out there making sure that others aren't selling gil, they've got the market cornered.

Yes and it's called IGE.

If you ever buy any kind of in-game money, I would advise not using IGE.
Think about this: peons4hire.com got sued by Blizzard, but not the website IGE.com which is much much more infamous.

I am fairly certain IGE works with Blizzard and I wouldn't be surprised if they work with SE as well. How the operation works is Blizzard and SE allow them to conduct business and keep their site open with the deal that IGE give them access to all of their information (Names, Addresses, Credit Cards, Character Name/Server Info) and then they do some cross-checking I assume (well Blizzard does so that you cannot have any excuse, SE might not) and then they ban you.

I am fairly certain that the case is something at least similar to this. I got banned in WoW after selling about 600g when I was deleting a character. The way I went about it, there couldn't possibly have been any concrete evidence. I was unequipping my items and vendoring them and giving away the rest of my stuff, then I whispered the name I was supposed to saying "where can I meet you?" and then I just mailed him the money.

Whenever I ask for an appeal from Blizzard, they investigate and always say that they have concrete evidence, but how can this be when the only possible evidence is MAYBE "where can I meet you?" and even that is definitely concrete, unless they matched the names and CC# I entered at the site. Maybe that was dumb of me, but I would have never seen something like that coming.

So yeah, just a warning: Don't use IGE.

Here's a better idea: Don't buy in-game currency.

Bought gil before, won't do it again since the person I got the gil from was soon after perma-banned from the server.

>.>;;;

Soo...In that case I'm guessing people are reporting the various sites to SE during random times, most likely a lot more at Fan Fest than at other times in the year.

And if they were going to sell a relic weapon, they'd be cashing in over a few thousand dollars, and not a measly $200. So basically, you got lied to :P
Lol true strike:P they wont sell the on of the best item for just 200$ they get millions every month so why sell that weapon for just 200$
