Follow: the Secret Power

Follow is great. Select a target and hit F and you're following that target. Follow is more like a free power than anything else. It's even more useful than a lot of powers, and at least as good as Inspirations or Enhancements that help accuracy and so forth.

Here are some of the many uses for Follow:
• Follow gets you up close to a targeted bad guy for melee attacks. No more "Out of Range" messages when you're trying to put a foot in someone's face.
• When a bad guy runs, Follow keeps you on his tail, whether you're a Scrapper, Blaster, or whatever. He can't escape.
• Want to make sure you get the first hit? Select your attack before you're in range, then hit F. Your attack will fire as soon as you get in range.
• What a great anti-Sorcerer weapon! If a Tsoo Sorcerer teleports, Follow takes you right where they reappear, even if you can't even see them yet.
• Same goes for flying bad guys: use Follow to keep you close to them, even if you can't see where they are above you.
• Isn't knockback annoying sometimes? You hit the bad guy and he has the nerve to be thrown out of range. But Follow makes knockback less annoying. With Follow, you go immediately to wherever the target bad guy lands. Want to get there more quickly? Turn on Sprint or SuperSpeed briefly.
• This also works the other way around: if the bad guy uses knockback on you, Follow gets you back into the fight faster.
• On slippery terrain, like Frostfire's hideout, Follow leads you directly back to the targeted bad guy.
• Want to keep at the farthest range possible when sniping? Start far away, then select your target, hit the attack, and press F. You'll move up close enough for your attack to fire. Immediately hit S: that will keep you from moving any closer.
• You can use Follow with good guys, too. For example, if you're trying to heal a low-health teammate in the midst of battle, Follow will lead you directly there.
• Similarly, if it's your job to heal or buff the tanker on the team, Follow will keep you right by their side.
• If a mentor and sidekick are getting too far from each other, Follow will get them back together again.
• Follow is great for team gathers, before heals or buffs.
• If you become separated from the team, you can use Follow to lead you back toward them again.
• If someone is leading the way to a destination, Follow will keep you on their tail.
• And, if you're really bored, you can follow a citizen around for a while.

A couple of tips about Follow:
• Follow works in a straight line. That means if a bad guy ducks around a corner, you start heading for the wall, not the corner they ducked around. Use A or D to move to the side, then start following again.
• Follow also doesn't take you over obstacles. Hit the spacebar to jump over them. You automatically keep following the target. This is useful in the middle of a fight, if you're trying to get to a blocked teammate or bad guy.
• You can turn off Follow by hitting a motion key, like S.
• If you're following a bad guy, don't let them draw you into an un-aggroed bunch of other bad guys. Turn off Follow if it's taking you where you don't want to go.

Any more ideas for using Follow?

Agreed on all of the above. but any healer worth his or her salt should try to get used to the (F) key. follow is an awsome way of staying at the front of the group but behind a big bad tanker. like master blaster in mad max3 he ceeps running in to the fray and never retreats because you are constantly healing the tanker. also while (F) is on anything the person targits you are following automaticaly becomes your targit so just follow heal and shoot never need to targit again. and finaly the tanker gets so reliant on u sitting behind, that when u or they leave the group they dont compensate there fighting style and will die a couple of times, each time thinking fondly of the time they were practicaly immortal as a master blaster combo pressing home the thought they need to find u again. making u worth youre waight in gold. oh and yes people size is everthing the smaller the defender the less likely you will be blocking the rest of the teams targiting systems as u zip about doing your thing an 8 ft defender is allways slowing down combat by shielding the bad guys from those all important mouse clicks that your allies need to hit them.
