Heres a semi-odd question.
I've been playing with daocunleashed for years (like since it started. Thanks Wyv!) but I have no one to play with.
I would be interested if anyone had thought of a way to 'get together' and hunt. aka find others of our ilk.
Now I realize that it would be stupid to publish guilds etc.. that use this program. Like just wishing to be banned.
So I'm at a loss as to how to do it. Maybe PM an interested person and invite to an IRC channel. A thought only. SOmeone with more nuerons than I needs to figure this out.
Thanks!

It's really not that hard.. I have seen people with names like Xkiller (hmmm, let's think about that) and the like.
You'd be sort of stupid to ask them ingame tho.

Actually, all that X, Xx, Xxx, Z, Zz, Zzz, etc... is from my knowledge, acquired from the Koreans. It is nothing more than a way to get the name you want if it is already taken.

Yeah, I actually cannot spot another user of this fine product in the game. and thats actually fine by me. It means were more hidden.
The naming thing, yeah, I thought of that, but I know a lot of people who have crammed 'ZZ' in front of a nym, so that they could have as close a one as possible to yet another char in another game.
Oh well, its a thought.
(and I'm not a plant! I just play one in a game)

I can sometimes spot users of X when playing daoc. More so when RvR. Some people dont use their heads when using this. They could be going one direction see you load on the map and make a beeline for you suddenly. There use to be a skald outside of DL all the time.. he'd hide way up on the side of a hill and watch his map. When you came out he'd start chasing you. I tested him one time cause I thought he might be an Xuser, so I watched him chasing me on the map, me having a bard bot he couldn't catch me but he was definately out of sight range. After running for about 20 seconds he stopped and went the other direction so I stopped. Sure enough he pulled a 180 and was headed for me again.
Dummies like that are obvious if you have the program to, not so obvious if you dont because you can't see them before they are in your range of sight. But I'm sure a GM could be using a legit tool which shows the same info as the program, probably even show stealthers on their end if they wanted to watch for obvious people like that. The best advice when you use this program is to still play like you dont have it. Act like your heading to another location and wait till the player is within sight before making a beeline straight to them.
Anyway that is a little off subject. As far as wanting to play with other XUsers, it would be pretty hard. You'd have to figure out some way of setting up a secure IRC server with password protection and then figure out a way of screening anyone requesting the password from being a GM. And since GMs are people to and on the internet you can take any identity you want, I dont forsee that being reasonably possible.
I could see it now.. even if somehow you kept GMs out, someone would compile a list and it be like the FBI secret agent list at the blackmarket going to the highest bidder (mythic). haha.

I can spot some users very easily in rvr. When you are running near a group that is on the other side of a hill/ milegate etc and they start chasing you...you circle around and sprint off speed 6 and they break off...when you start to circle back and you can see them they start chasing again....
last week i did this about 6x to the same group in odins.....it was too funny.

OK. Normally I don't comment on things like this, but I felt I had to on this one...
First - Due to the ravenous nature of the Mythic beast, it would not be safe for ANYONE to 'get together' to play on ANY server and be even slightly associated with this or any other Radar program. They are trying every trick they can think of to get rid of us or to ban us, or both. Watching this forum, I'm sure, is one of their favorite things to do.
Second - When you guys are 'playing Radar tag' you need to realize that you're ACTING LIKE YOU HAVE RADAR, TOO! Mythic could easily be sitting up on a hill and start running towards people out of visiblity range just to see who reacts to their presence. They are trying every dirty trick in the book. I've seen people banned just for TALKING about XUnleashed or other Radar proggies.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop giving them food. Make them think they got all of us. Us little radar guys really can't make this work anymore. You Mythic guys are way too tough for us!! Turn your attention to some other Radar program!

Wow, really? I didn't think if they had radar they could see me.
BTW, thre are ways to play "tag" as you call it, without being obvious like the opponent.

Most you guys are nerds and morons.
Have x and dont use it?
I used x when it first started calling out all the levels, who, what, where and noone gave a rats !@#$%^&*.
I dont do that anymore, but just do what the program supposed to do find other outside of clip range(like 4000) AND KILL THEM!
Mythic is not trying to set traps and catch you.
If they did that they would not have paying customers. Really a recent poll on mlf showed over 400 radar users on a server with 1200 players, yes 1/3 of the guys there uses radar and thus explains the high numbers of r5 and better.
People take a chill pill and mellow, if mythic wanted us all gone we would be out in a heartbeat.
The only way to can get banned is from harrasment of *** killing over and over same dude who happened to be mythic employee and talking in chat what, who, where, and when. And macros that are unattended.
*** happened to me once

The one hardest thing for Mythic to do is to determine WHO is running radar in your group.
Get Team Speak or Roger Wilco and have the radar user NOT be the driver, just call out where the bad guys are. Unless they start snooping memory they cant EVER have concrete evidence of radar, unless they want to start banning whole groups.

In my opinion. Mythic can ban you for what ever they want.
I was suspended for 7 days because I had to get some where fast. I sat down and told a noob to kill me.
THey suspended me for Farming rps. HAAAA...
I just loged in. Let one person kill me and I was Farming.
I argued with them the whole time i was suspended threw email. They threathened to bann me for fighting my case.
Yes. they won't ban everyone. But Mythic does what they want.
