What do you do to keep a buffbot on another computer from timing out without sticking a piece of paper in to jam a key or something? Following a guard at DL doesn't seem to be a solution.

Mine stands for hours and never ever "times out". The LD is IMHO rather in connection with the fact that the second pc is often quite slow or you run you second session in the background thus very slow as well.
I have not find any need to entertain my buff bot at all to keep him awake.

It's a very accepted practice to have your buffbot 'twiddle his thumbs' every so many seconds.
Just keep an eye out for any CSR posts!

Truthfully the easiest thing to do and not have to worry, is have you mouse on second computer scroll through your bots hot key list. I have him do this on loop mode, because the CSR can't see this part of your screen. And your mouse causes the game to think that you made an action without your character actually moving. Another method, depending on where your hunting, is keeping your bot /stuck on a guard outside your main portal Keep. There is always one guard that is moving around on patrol, but stays in the immediate area. This way your character is constantly moving. Seems to be working fine for me with no ld problems.

Attack mode times out and your toon will go out of attack mode after a while.
If you stick something moving in game, you will still go LD albeit a little later. It extends your time but without any mouse or keypress or some other event sent from client side the server will consider you long-gone and disconnect you.
Best thing to do is run a macro with a random click or keypress every 15-20mins.

My "other" pc is in another room, and I only have one paid subscription of unleashed, so anyone have any suggestions for a simple macro program that will make an input every so often with a +/- randomizer perhaps?

if you're running on a second computer, just stick something in your nearest target button. works like a charm, I can stay logged in for days (and have)
