Works fine for me and a lot of other ppl. I use it daily. There is a known issue with certain Nvidia drivers.

could ya possilby post a bit of your system setup. ?

Im using WinXP w SP1. ATI AIW 9800pro with latest drivers (4.10), using Asus a7n8x (nforce2) with latest wqhl drivers and 2gb of ddr. not sure what could be causing prob, however as soon as I select the DX8-DX9 toggle from the DU menu bar while in game, then POOF crashes to desktop.

Try deleting and replaceing the xu folder.

Might be some corrupt files in there.

Also, test it out on the DX8 test and dx9 test configs.

Hmm well that worked, appears I must of had a corupt XU file or something.., when I uninstalled all plug-ins before using XU lugins ui page then re-DL'd using the previous .xui files same crashes happened. So I did as you said and completely deleted my XU folder, re-DL'd XU and plugins and now all is working again. TY again Admin.
