Qs and As galore.
6:08 PM EDT: Edited for clarification.
Q) I started using the strong draught of mending couple of weeks ago and I just noticed that whenever I use the potion a message pops up saying that "I already have that effect. Wait until it expires." I don't get it?
A) If you already have a more powerful health regen active, the spell from the potion will not overwrite it.
Q) While a warlock is loading the chamber there is a demonic voice that chants something that nobody understands, and is bringing up ideas of what is being said. Some examples are 'excellence is best', 'you cant stop the great' along with other saying I dare not repeat cause of the naughty words, My favorite a friend has mentioned is 'exlax can't stop it'... Can you please tell us what exactly the voice is saying?
A) There is no hidden message. It is complete gibberish.
Q) What is the Armor factor cap and hits points cap in Thid for Armsman. I found that using lvl 50 unique objects could allow me to raise stats to 49/49 but there’s nothing to tell me if I'm capped out on AF and hits.
A) The simplest way to find your AF cap is to delve an item that’s higher level than you (an item on a consignment merchant viewed from the market explorer would do just fine). In the Armor Modifiers section, you’ll see a Base Factor number and a Clamped Factor number. The Base number is how much AF the object can potentially grant. The Clamped number is the most you can actually benefit from at your level. At level 24, looking at Plate, that number will be 48 (i.e. twice your level). However, the actual, Effective Armor factor is also modified by quality. At level 24, if your armor is 100% quality, the Clamped Factor will be multiplied by 1.5 for a total Effective Armor Factor of 72.
Hitpoints are capped at your level *4, so 96 at level 24.
Q) Well I was setting up my animist for farming coins and have items equipped with the +bonus to pickpocketed money. My question is do all the bonuses stack and why won't it show up on the Bonuses listing?
A) As an Animist, you cannot make use of +Pickpocketing bonus because you cannot become a Spymaster to gain the Pickpocketing skill. It would be just like trying to benefit from +Envenom, which you also couldn’t use because you do not have the Envenom skill.
Q) I'm wondering about block %. I have 3 items that give each 4% block a total of 12%, but when I click my bonuses key it totals up 10% only. Is that the max block % you can have and if so how come MoB is so much higher?
A) The cap from items is 10%. Realm abilities do not factor in to this cap at all.
Q) I have the title "Crafter's Helper" and I am a Legendary Armorcrafter. How can I change my title? I've tried to go to the Armorcrafter master with no results using /title.
A) You should be able to go back to the Armorcrafter and click on the keyword to rejoin the Armorcrafter trade. Then type /title and your crafting title should be changed to the appropriate one for your Armorcrafting skill.
Q) I don't know if this has been asked before. I had started a guild and used my own house to make the guild house. The guild is currently dead and I'm no longer in the guild. I cannot remove a few of the characters in the guild because they are rank 0. Will the house become condemned? Or will it default to the original character that purchased the house?
A) Guild Halls never revert back to Personal Homes, and can never be transferred to another guild. Guild Halls follow the normal repossession rules, just like a Personal Home. If there is not enough money in the lockbox or on the consignment merchant to cover the rent, it would be repossessed normally. Even a Guild Hall owned by a guild with no members will still follow these rules. So, if there is a consignment merchant on the house with items available for purchase, you can buy items from the house to, in essence, pay the rent on the house. This does not guarantee that a guild member with access won’t remove the money from the consignment merchant, of course.
Q) My question is about housing and the new condemned rule, I have 4 houses, 2 are from my 2 accounts (a mansion and a villa) I had 2 friends who left the game who gave me full access to there houses, I pay the rent and use them as if they are mine. The patch note said inactive accounts that have x amount on there merchants but I am paying the rent on these houses, will they collapse? I ask because I am a collector of loot and well, even 2 mansions wont store all my crap, not to mention that I basically lose 20 plat that I used to upgrade my friends' houses.
A) If the account that owns a house is closed, that house will be condemned and then scheduled for repossession to occur after 120 days regardless of the status of rent payments.
Houses are a perk paying customers can acquire to further flesh out their character. Each paying account is allowed one house per server, which comes with a certain number of limitations (certain amount of vault space, consignment merchant space, etc). Additionally, housing space in some realms is extremely limited. If an account is not paying the membership subscription, then they are not entitled to keep the house active, regardless of who else may have in-game access.
We realize that this may inconvenience some players, and we do regret that. However, this is a necessary step for us to take in order to ensure active players have equal access to housing and the features the housing system provides.
Q) Does the new dragonslayer armor degrade like normal armor drops or is it like Artifact armor?
A) The new dragonslayer armor does not degrade. It acts like Artifact armor in its durability properties.
Q) Do the new dragon drops have the hidden to hit bonus that Artifact and Champion weapons have?
A) Yes, all of the dragon drop weapons, the new dragonbane weapons and the new dragonslayer weapons have the hidden to hit bonus at the same value as the Artifacts and Champion weapons.
Q) From 1.89a "Further research of the Dragonsworn Manual of Arms has resulted in the discovery of a strange new alloy that allows for the production of lighter weapons. A great debate has risen among various scholars about whether it should truly be considered an alloy at all, because it doesn't actually require any extra ingredients. Many question whether the Dragonsworn truly understand what the word "alloy" actually means. However, the recipes described as using this "alloy" do seem to create faster weapons, so most crafters have simply decided not to ask questions about it." So, my question is, where do I find this stuff? I looked all over: merchants, dragonsworn at the camps, granite giants. Whats more, I didn't see any new recipes in my Weaponcrafting window... What gives?
A) Only 12 new items were added with this patch note, primarily in Midgard, so if you’re in Albion or Hibernia, you’re likely not to notice them at all. Basically all we wanted to do is make faster alternatives to various existing Dragonsworn weapons available to the select classes that would benefit from them (classes with useful style procs). In Albion and Hibernia, there are already fast alternatives for many weapon types because the left-hand useable weapons are fast (and the Flexible Dragonsworn weapons were already fast in the first place). Midgard was the most lacking in fast alternatives because only axes are left-hand useable there. So while a Midgard crafter would notice many introductions to Dragonsworn Weaponcrafting, Albion crafters would only notice a couple Fletching additions, and Hibernian crafters would only notice a single Fletching and a single Weaponcrafting addition.
Q) In the Gripklosa Mountains zone of Midgard is a griffon trophy mob by the name of Arr. What little information I have found regarding him indicates that you must hope that he will eventually randomly attack a party member. Is there any part of this zone in which such an encounter is more likely? Also, is there any way to increase the chances, such as by killing other griffons?
A) We investigated the encounter and adjusted the griffon Arr to spawn and path more regularly. The changes are on Pendragon now and will go live with 1.90. All you trophy hunters who have missed out on him due to his widely wandering ways will soon be able to more easily track him down.
