Combat:
Fighting the beginner monsters will get you 5g in cash and about another 5g in loot. Harder monsters give more, team up with someone to fight them.
Go to one of the more distant locations if the nearby ones are over-camped.

Crafting:
Don't do manufacturing just yet, it's a gold sink. Do gathering to earn gold.
You can find basic crafting tools on the beginner monsters. Also there are "toolboxes" near the beginner monsters with some crafting tools in them. You can save a lot of money by gathering these tools.
Otherwise, gathering tools are sold by the Merchant NPC for 20g a pop, and will return many times that if you're careful. (And 0 if you're careless and get killed while harvesting. =)

Stay in town to harvest first. Wood and stone is most plentiful but least needed currently. Wood comes from trees, stone comes from rocks with "stone" in the name. Herbs are less common, but still abundant in town, look for orange bushes that say "herb" in the name. Metal is least common, look for rocks named "metal". (They look a LOT like stone =) Not very common in town, but definitely needed most. Fish can be gathered from any water.
Sell some of what you gathered (to players!) to buy crafting tools to process the rest into refined resources to sell to players. Keep in mind under certain circumstances that processed materials may be worth LESS than unprocessed materials. This is because you are extracting an intangible resource (potential skill gain) from the unprocessed resource when you process it. Check your local market conditions first.

NOTE: Resource nodes are instanced! The person next to you gathering will NOT take resources away from you! SHARE! (at least in noobie towns not sure about rares and out of these areas at this time).

Considering it says "Originaly Written by Alari " I think we can all agree that it is a C + P, and that the OP is giving credit to the OO.

It is basic info, and for noobs, it has a few tips in it, that can save gold later on. Def worth some points.

/aye

ehh all these posts were taken and cut up from 1 post on the main darkfall forums. They are hardly a resource. If anything the whole post should have been copied into one post. right now its just spam really.

Too general info

To earn money fast - these are the best tips:

- Find quests that tells you to kill at least X number of Y monsters within the hour. (This quest gives 160-ish gold if you kill 10 in an hour, and 5 gold pr kill you do more than 10. You can't deliver the quest before the hour is up.) These questgivers and mobs are usually within a 10 min run, north and south of the starting areas.
This is the ultimate moneygiver in the start. Unless the camps are crowded you will be able to get 10-18 kills in the start. the mobs aren't all that hard - you should survive 1 vs 1. Do your utmost to kill 1 mob. Sprint after it, hack at it wildly, after it's dead, run out of the area, rest up, run in and loot (and skin if you're able), run out and rest - repeat. Food gives faster regen, so try finding edible stuff (can be gotten easily by herb gathering).
ONLY THE ONE WHO GETS THE KILLSHOT GETS THE KILL! So if the camp is crowded, stay out of trouble, when the mob is low on health, try to aim hit or shot so you are the one to deliver the killing blow. In addition, you can 'ninja loot', no matter who kills, everyone can loot, so once you see the tombstone, press F and grab whatever you can! :-)

- Do the starting quests - gives some equipment, and some gold. Doesn't take too long.

You can also harvest resources and sell to players, almost every resource is sellable, but I'll just list some that also gives some cash from NPC merchants.
- Every 'ordinary' resource gives 1g/10 resource at NPC.
- Gemstones (primarily stone mining, secondary ore mining), low chance, but gives some cash.
- Lobster can be fished. Pays 5gp at NPC
- Herbs usually gives quite a nice price from players, if you're lucky to farm steedgrass, that gives about 150-250gp ingame (or a mount!)
