I was pondering the idea of writing a plugin for DAoC. The plug would look up a character, get his rp weekly, total rp, etc etc, and store it in memory to be used later. Then, based on user input, there would be a box to select the target realm level, in then which the plugin would show how much rp is needed, and the average amount of time it would take, using the stats from the rp weekly etc.

I was thinking over on how to query char data etc, and I can't seem to think of a good way. Besides the fact I'm quite illiterate in VB, the format which char data is served up, apart from guild XML pages, would be hard to navigate (I think anyways)

Are there any suggestions on how I should start to go about this? Tackling the query to camelotherald for chars, I'm just stumped :/

Well, you need to know visual basic. I would suggest getting started by learning vb.

Then, when comfortable, try to compile one of the demo/sample plugins and give it a whirl.
