:)
Hi all thought i'd ask if anyone has a darn good setup for Raven battleships at the moment this is my set up for low-slots

2 warp stabs
3 power relays#
hi-slots
3 seige launchers
2 l launchers
2 h lazers
but the mid slots i am having truble deciding what to fill them with.
i tanked a raven and got taken out by a megathron and scorp!..
and again by a raven v raven and it starting to p*ss me off is it cos pirates have better (named) stuff on ship as they are able to obtain named things more than others.

first of all you will NEVER go against pirates unless you are st**id :D. pirates are not dum they will NOT (NEVER) confront you in battle unless they know they can beat you , so if you have a pirate around that is willing to fight FLY AWAY..trust me i have more exp in the game more than anyone..
how ever if you want a decent ship you go with 3 siege lunchers (torpidos) and 1400mms x4 and you get some MODs in low slot.. shield amp and shield boost in Med slots with some weapon distruptors...
then you are set to go.. also you need a MWD to get into the position you need to use the 1400mms..

if you want you can be a anti targetting means they will have a very hard time targetting you while you are already shooting them..the key top stay alive is to keep your shields UP..

you need Medium or Large shield boosters and a shield amplifyer for sure..***

watch out for sharp shooter pirates and gangs , and electronic warfare scorpions..(once your distablalized you are done)

anyways try to have fun and i hope that you will get the right setting for you raven

best wishes

I am sure that only has do to with the number of post you have VS a set limit for change in posting status

Not calling into question your experience or your comments however PC pirates are human just like you and I and are susceptible to the same miscalculations as anyone else. Proof of this is that I have personally taken down a number of pirates preying on noobs in Amamake (and a few other systems) and a few who have camped mission pirate spawns. Once you know what you are up against (by the pilot who has been podded and is now complaining in corp chat) you can put together a plan, assemble a gang with some buddies, warp in, scramble, webify, you know the drill.

It would be a boring game if no one could tackle a player pirate who was out for a fight. However, I agree totally with you that player pirates are generally very experienced and need to be treated with respect and caution. Makes for an interesting gaming experience though.

:)

most people would suggest armor tankign with 6 siege launchers, so i will do the same, shield tanking works, but with the carp relay nerf its.... nerferd =).
i got, 6 siege, 4 hardners, 1 amp, 1 XL, 5 relays,
i had a few test runs, and i think i coulda taken down my friends apoc with few probs. armor tanked the raven should be even more powerfull but you need to keep an eye out becouse its tough fitting relays that way

Hi's
6x Seige Launchers
2x Heavy Nos (or 1x NOS, 1x cloak)

Mid's
XL Shield Booster
Shield Boost amp
Shield Hardners

Low's
As many balistic contol mods as you can fit
Power diags / rcu's as required.

Always play to your ships strengths.
Trying to mak a compromise set-up will always lose you the fight.

Oh, if you MUST fit warp core stabs (which indicate you intend to lose), replace the balistic control mods.

The Raven is formidable close range, with each torp hitting for over 750 damage.
Get within 21km.
Nos and torp your enemy.
Boost shields.
Pray.

Raven is also pretty good at tanking sentry guns, but it take a good understanding of how your skills/setup perform.
If you intend to tank the sentry guns always leave a margin to get away (and make sure you are aligned for warp before you start firing).
Never let anyone get into scrambling range unless you are sure you can kill them and get away.
