Next poll on this subject..
MaxCote and SuperNOVA now both ask for you account info in order to do a full auto start/autoconfigure of the client. This can be a option on either one if enough requests or complaints are voiced.
The previous Poll asked if you prefer full autoconfig and that was overall a yes.
Do you trust a macro that asks for your user info?
edit: What can be done to verify if it is safe?
MaxCote is open code and anyone can look at it. SuperNOVA is not.

I dont mind so much, I give it to ECM every day. But I would like to have the code made available that shows what is done with your account info and have that bit of code explained just for reasurence.

As co-author of SuperNOVA, I have been throwing around suggestions with Buck and believe that we will implement it as an option. I was skeptical before... but since writing SuperNOVA and thinking that it didn't matter, it no longer matters.
Just because a program doesn't ask for your account info doesn't mean it can't get it...
Other programs collect personal info from your computer, even if they say they don't since none of them actually SHOW you the info contained in their little "report"....
But.... I am opting for an option for SuperNOVA to have you enter or not enter your info. The main reason it originally was designed to ask for the info is the option of it logging out at a specified time then logging back in at a specified time, that requires account info.
