The Everquest Test server has released the testing version of the new Tradeskill Interface, which will soon be going live!
When clicking on a Combine object, used in tradeskills, you will get a large popup window.
Using the Search Recipes function, you can find recipes relating to the Combine object, either by trivial level or by Partial Name (or both). The window will list recipes below, at, and somewhat above your current skill level. As an unskilled (0) test character, I saw recipes with trivials up to 45 points higher than my current skill! (Note: Items such as Dough, which can be made using any of several different combinations of items (different types of eggs, in this case) will have entries for each recipe (each type of egg, in this case). You'll have to be sure you choose the recipe you have the appropriate items for.)
An added bonus is that, using the Search Recipes function, you'll be able to discover the ingredients used in recipes surrounding your skill level without windowing out to EQ Traders to research them.
Choosing a recipe loads images of the items (not the items themselves!) into the Combine section of the window. If you choose Combine, the items will be pulled from your inventory and combined into a finished product for you, with a single click. Not only does this reduce the risk of making mistakes in your Combines, but it skips all the click-work involved in moving items into the container!
If you don't have the appropriate items in your inventory for the combine, you will be sent text explaining this, and letting you know exactly what you're missing.
Using the Favorite Recipes section, you'll also be allowed to store and quickly retrieve certain favorite recipes that you use often.
Finally, for undiscovered recipes and those well above your trivial, there is the Experiment button. This will open up the old-style Combine object window, where you'll be able to try anything you like, just like before.
