Loral from mobhunter.com has written a strong commentary on his most recent impressions of The Buried Sea expansion, Mobhunter: A Late, Incomplete, and Pessimistic Review of the Buried Sea, and while you may not agree with his conclusions, he makes some good points about the nature of video games in general.
He writes, "My time is the most important commodity I have. I only have a few hours every week to play these games. More and more hobbies take up that time and I have to decide exactly where my time is best spent. "
I think that gets right down to it, when all is said and done. Games must make us feel like the time spent playing them is worthwhile, otherwise, what is the point? Most of us do only have a limited amount of time to spend on entertainment, and it's up to the game designers to make sure we enjoy ourselves.
An excellent review as always from Loral. Check it out.
