ISLAND HOPPING MADE EASY
(Crafting made simple)
I have been on the islands (evil and good) over 20 times with various Toons. The recent changes to the island have made things much more interesting.
You can come off the island as a LVL 9 adventurer (or higher) and LVL 9 crafter + 217%. Your crafter will ding level 11 when you go to see the guy in Qeynos or Freeport who asks you what you want to do for a crafting career.
Harvest, harvest, harvest! You can use all of the materials you harvest. The nodes for harvesting are ABUNDANT on the island, unlike when you get to your home city. And 90% of the harvesting can be done in a non-aggro area. Harvesting skills can be brought up to 49 for all skills on the island now, if you have your crafting at 9 + 100%. Also, harvest all ? marks you see, there are 2 collection quests to complete that can give you an adventure level – and the feathers and shells are worth 7 copper each after you have completed the 2 collections.
I start crafting when my adventure class is level 4 or 5. By that level you should have harvested enough crafting materials. Talk to the person outside the tower 1st – then go inside and talk to the person there. You will receive a crafting book. Double click it to scribe it. You will get some simple recipes, and in your trade-skill section you will have 3 buffs to work with for each skill.
EXAMPLE:
If you are doing provisions (cooking) there are 3 buffs. My personal preference is to place the buffs on the hot bar. Pick an empty, non-combat hot bar. Place the buff that says durability vs. progress in the 1st slot. The 2nd slot gets the one that uses power to increase your progress. The 3rd slot is for the buff that says success vs. progress. You will press the 2nd hot bar buff every time the work progresses. You will use the other buff keys as they show up at the bottom of your recipe book bar.
Make a frog leg. You need a frog leg, a piece of dough and a pc of walnut kindling. The last 2 items are purchased from the person you 1st talked to. Dbl click on the stove and you will see only 3 recipes for food. Start it, and every time you see something happen, press the 2nd hot bar button. Pretty quickly you will have a finished and hopefully delectable frog leg for supper. This 1st item will give you a crafting level, or darn close to it. Make the coffee next, followed by the sunfish. By this time you should be lvl 4 or 5.
Continue this process through all of the different crafting areas and you will find that you can level 9 rapidly by making the tier 4 level item each time. It won’t be perfect every time.
FOR THOSE WITH MAINS
If you have a main, buy the artisan books and put them in your shared bank for your new Toon. With those books your ALT can actually make his or her own spells on the island, as well as armor and other assorted items. You can cruise the island with apprentice 4 level spells and armor you crafted yourself, which makes the place a breeze.
ALT MONEY ISSUES FOR THOSE WITH MAINS
Do you want a simple way for Western Union to send money to your new ALT? Buy candles or the like and send them via the shared bank. For the time being they sell on the island for the same price as you bought them on the mainland. (Waiting for the Nerfers to strike on this one).
OFF THE ISLAND AND I AM LEVEL 10!!!
Dump all those cheap buffs that you were given at lvl 2 – the level 10 buffs increase DURABILTY instead of PROGRESS. This mean you have a greater chance of making PRISTINE items almost every single time. You will get level 10 buffs for the 3 that have to do with your class, and new buffs for GEOCRAFT, WOODWORKING, THAUMATURGY, and BINDING. I am sorry to say that you lost out on the other 7 sets of buffs, because they stopped being valuable when you chose your profession. You can still use them, but anything over level 9 will be darn near impossible to make. I still use the lvl 10 buffs at level 60+

Sorry about that... I followed the instructions and submitted as it said - this is where it ended up. I have no idea how to move it to the proper place.

So is the copyright at the end a joke or is Mike Walton - Stepsinit, Oasis Server, Dragonbane guild really goofy enough to post his real info. on a hack site?

He is indeed a prem member. Therefore i'm moving it to the Guide Discussion board.
As for the guide its self, its a little bit self explanatory. Atleast in my eyes. I'd vote a no for any TUBucks, or very little there of.
EDIT: Changed topic title to something a little more relevent.
